UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SHOWER-BATH APPARATUS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 15, 1921.
Application filed October 4, 1920. Serial No. 414,385.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I CHARLES J. Brock- MAN, a citizen of the United States, residmg at Coronado, in the county of Coronado and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shower- Bath Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to shower bath apparatus, and particularly to improvements in a bucket therefor having a raised bottom which will accommodate a rose and valve under the bottom where the extending sides of the bucket will protect them.
Further features and details of the invention will appear as described in connection with the accompanying drawing, which represents a shower bath in accordance with my invention, and hereinafter set forth and. claimed.
Referring to the drawing the reference numeral 10 indicates a bucket constructed in accordance with my invention. The bucket is suspended by the bail 11 and a cord fastened to it by which it may be raised and lowered as desired. The bottom 12 of the bucket is so positioned as to form a re ceptable 13 for water and a compartment 14: for a rose 15 and valve 16. The rose 15 and valve 16 are connected with the bottom 12 by a pipe 17 aifording a passage for water in the receptacle 13. Valve 16 has an extending handle 18 for controlling it for turning on and off, and varying the flow of water from the receptacle.
A shower bath bucket of the construction herein disclosed, can be placed on the floor when filling it and the valve and rose are protected by the extending sides of the bucket. The bucket can be elevated to the re uired height by means of the cord attac ed to its bail, and when it is suspended over the head of the user, the valve is conveniently located where it can be manipulated as desired.
In reduction to practice I have found the form of my invention illustrated in the drawing and referred to in the foregoing description, is most practicable; yet realizing that conditions concurrent with the adoption of my device will necessarily vary, I desire to emphasize the fact that various minor changes in details of construction, proportion and arrangement of parts, may be resorted to when required, without sacrificing any of the advantages of my invention as defined in the claims.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters atent is:
1. A bucket for shower baths and the like having a spray device connectedswith the bottom thereof, a valve in the connection for said spray device for controlling the fiow of liquid therethrough, means on said bucket whereby it can be supported in an elevated position, and an annular shield extending below the bottom of the bucket for protecting the spray device and valve and out of line therewith and for supporting the bucket in a lowered position.
2. A device for shower baths and the like comprising a bucket having a raised bottom forming an upper receptable and a lower compartment, a spray device in said compartment having its lower surface above the plane-of the lower edge of the bucket, a tube connecting said s ray device with said raised bottom and a ording a passage for fluid from said receptacle to said spray device, and a valve in said tube for controlling the passage of fluid therethrough having a handle manually operable within the compartment.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
CHARLES J. BROCKMAN.
