Be it known that I, RAYMOND W. LIVING.- s'roN, a citizen of the United States of America, and "resident of Springfield, in the county of- Hampden and State of Massachus setts, have invented certain new and useful I;
Improvements in Supports for Electric- Fla'sh Lamp Cases, of which the following -is a full, clear, and exact description.
Another object of the invention is the prov vision of an adjustable electric flashlamp' support which can be adjusted longitudinally of the case and detachably connected to any lamp case and which can be angularly adjusted relative to the case to support the same in any desired angular position.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a fiashlamp support consisting of.
two pieces, one. a clamp adapted to detachably embrace a lamp case and the other a wire leg havin pivotal connection at its ends with the 0 amp and provided with an ofiset'terminal portion adapted to have a spring clutching action with the case, the clamp being formed with oifset portions adapted to be engaged by the side members i of the leg whereby the leg ,will be maintained in any desired angular relation with the clamp and the case.
Another object of the invention is to provide a clamp for this purpose which will have a positive clutching action on the case to which it is connected.
With the above and other objects in view this invention relates to certain new and useful constructions, combinations and ar rangements of parts, clearly described in the following specification and fully illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

.Fig. 5 is a detail of the connection bet-ween-- rounding the opening 12 is outwardly offset to form a circular raised portion 15, whereby the oifset portion 13 may swing in anare against the inner side of the 'jaw without scraping the case.
Each jaw is also provided with a transverse corrugated portion 16 providing a relatively shallow spring loop adapted to be axially alined with the lamp case when the clamp is attached thereto and which is designed to maintain the terminal portions of the jaws under gripping tension on the lamp case and also to provide a bearing surface for the side arms 14. The offset portion 16 is formed with a series of offset or out wardly disposed semi-spherical abutments or stops 17 adapted to be engaged by the side armsl l as these side arms swing on the jaws as indicated in Fig. 1.

The yoke 18 is formed so that the terminal portions 18 are deflected inwardly relative to the body of the yoke so as to have a snap fit on the case, whereby the yoke will be retained on the case'by the spring pressure exerted by the jaws 18 against the rounded surface of the case as indicated in Fig. 4 in dotted lines, the jaws being shown in normally deflected positions in full lines. The clamp 7 is adapted to slide longitudinally on the case 5 and to be detached therefrom at any point of its engagement with the case and to maintain a spring gripping action on the case which will permlt the arms 14c of the leg member 8 to swing against a spring bearing surface 16. The arms 14 are adapted to swing on the spring bearing surface 16 so as to snap over them outwardly of said abutments 17 whereby the arms 14 will be maintained by a friction and spring tension against the particular abutments with which the arms are adjust-.. ed as indicated in Fig. 1.
In the position shown in Fig. 1 the arms 14; are in abutting relation against the cen' tral stops 17 but should it be desired to Support the case 5 at an angle less than 45 degrees the arms may be adjusted with one of the upper stops and the clamp shifted relative to the case to secure the desired adjustment. Should it be desired to adjust the arms of the clamp to support the case at a higher angle the arms maybe brought in abutting relation with any of the lower stops. When the leg rest is connected to the case the jaw portions .18 will engage the floor or support'on which the entire device is dispose The lamp case may also be supported by suspending the yoke 18 upon-a hookor any other devlce and similar adjustments may be attained when thus suspended.
My device does not require any alteration of the case construction of flashlamps and is easily attached and detached and'readily adjusted to any desired position. When attached to a battery case the clampand the supporting leg member will lie neatly against the side of the-case and in no way interfere with the free use of the device by the hand of the user while the leg member, is in folded position, as the clamp and the leg member will be retained in their folded positions as shown in Fig. 2 by spring tension exerted by the jaws of the clamp and the jaws of the yoke.
Having described my invention I claim:
1. An adjustable support for lamp-cases consisting of a yoke of U shaped formation frictionally retained in place.
and provided with jaws formed with spaced stops extending transversely thereof, and a leg member havingarms pivotally directly connected to said jaws to swing successively against the stops to support the case in var ous angular posltions.
2. An adjustable support for lamp cases consisting of a U shaped spring case clasping member having jaws formed with transversely disposedoffset portions providing spring loops, said loops being formed with spaced stops, and a leg member having oompanion arms pivoted directly to said jaws to swing against the loop portionsand stops.-

A support for flashlamps consisting ofa U shaped clamp adapted to grip the body of a fiashlamp case and rovlde a jawon each side of the case, eacli ing provided with outwardly ofi'set portions and one of said jaws being provided with a series of stops extendmg transversely thereof, a leg member comprising side members having terminal portions directly pivoted to the outwardly offset portions of said jaws and adapted to yieldingly engage said stops, and means connecting said side mem-' bers to each other.
