The pivots 5 correspond to the pivots 5. A constantly traveling endless belt 70 is arranged below the rotary carrier so as to cooperate with the fiat plates l in applying the transparent patch Z to the window envelop blank X. A stationary board or table 7l prevents the belt 70 from sagging under the pressure of the flat plates l. In this modified structure, the belt 70 and pressure plates l travel with the interposed blank and patch during the pressing operation.
I claim:
l. In a machine for making window envelops, traveling patch applying mechanism comprising a pair of flat faced traveling pressure members whereby the patch and window envelop blank are simultaneously advanced and forced into engagement with each other, rotary means for feeding window envelop blanks to both of said traveling pressure members, means for feeding patches to one of said traveling pressure members, and means for moving said flat faced traveling pressure members in noncircular pathsl and toward and away from each other.
2. In a machine for making window envelops, traveling patch applying mechanism comprising a pair of traveling pressure members whereby the patch and window envelop blank are firmly forced into engagement with each other, said traveling pressure members being movable toward and away from each other, means for securing patches to one of said traveling pressure members, and means for feeding window envelop blanks into the space between the traveling pressure members.
3. In a machine for making window envelops, traveling patch applying mechanism comprising a pair of traveling flat faced pressure members whereby `the patch and window envelop blank are firmly forced into engagement with each other, means for feeding patches to the fiat face of one of said traveling pressure members, means for securing the patches tol said fiat face, and means for feeding window envelop blanks to the traveling pressure members.

In a machine for making window envelops, patch applying mechanism comprising oppositely disposed pressure members, means for delivering the blank and patch to said pressure members, said means including feed rolls whereby the blank is fed between said pressure members and a transferring device whereby the patch is delivered to one of said pressure members, one of said pressure members being movable toward the other to firmly press the blank and patch into engagement with each other, and means for advancing said pressure members in a line parallel with the path of the interposed patch and blank so as to maintain the traveling patch and blank under pressure.
5. In a machine for making window envelops, patch applying mechanism comprising oppositely disposed fiat faced pressure members, means for delivering the blank and patch to the flat faces of said pressure members, said means including feed rolls whereby the blank is fed between said fiat faces and a transferring device whereby the patch is delivered to one of said fiat faces, one of said pressure members being movable toward the other to firmly press the blank and patch between the fiat faces, and means for advancing said pressure members in noncircular paths with the blank and patch between their fiat faces, so as to maintain the traveling blank and patch under pressure.
6. In a machine for making window envelops, traveling patch applying devices revolving about different axes and coperating with each other to force the patch into engagement with the window envelop blank, each of said traveling patch applying devices including a rotary carrier, a fiat faced pressure member pivotally secured to said carrier and means for turning the pressure member on the axis of its pivot, to provide for a non-circular motion about the axis of rotation, the fiat faces of the revolving pressure members being parallel with each other when the blank and patch are pressed between them, means for delivering patches to the fiat face of one of said pressure members, and means for feeding envelop blanks into the space between said pressure members.
7. In a machine for making window envelops, patch applying mechanism comprising fiat faced pressure members revolving about different axes and coperating with each other to firmly press the patch into engagement with the blank, means for feeding patches toone of the pressure members, means for securing the patches to the last mentioned pressure member, and means for feeding window envelop blanks to the fiat faces of said pressure members, said pressure members being yieldingly supported and free to remain in parallelism as they travel with the blank and patch during the pressing operation.
8. In a machine for making window envelops, patch applying devices comprising coperating pressure members traveling with the patch and window envelop blank so as to maintain the traveling patch in firm engagement With the traveling envelop blank, means for feeding patches to one of said pressure members, a patch holder carried by the last mentioned pressure mem- 5 ber, and means for moving the pressure members toward and away from each other.
