To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that l, HENRY K. SANDELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at (Jhicago in the county of Cook and btate ot'lllinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Sound-Modulating Devices, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to devices for modulating the tone emitted by sound reproducing devices of the phonograph or gramophone type, wherein the desired sounds are produced by the vibration of a resiliently held diaphragm. It will be clearly understood from the, following description thereof; illustrated by the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1, is a side elevation of a phone graph tone arm provided with a sound boa.

In combination, a sound box, a diaphragm mounted therein, means for producing vibrations of the diaphragm, a modulating pin attached centrally to said diaphragm and extending outwardly therefrom, elf-supporting member mounted on the sound box and provided with an opening into which the pin extends, ayieldable bushing surrounding said pin, a split cap surrounding said bushing and a set screw mounted in said support for compressing the cap and bushing.
