cago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certainnew and useful Improvements in Combined Aspirators and Force-Pumps, of which the yfollowing is a specification. g
This invention` relates to improvements in combined aspirator and force pump adapted to produce and maintain a vacuum in-a chamber or passage by entrainment or suction ofthe fluid therefrom.
A further objectis to provide improved 'means for separating the gaseous'fluid from the liquid, the gaseous fluid being delivered to a Chamber or receptacle in` which the aspirator is arranged, while the 4liquid is de` livered to a force pump and by means of lwhich pump, the liquid is discharged or conveyed to the point of use.
To the attainment of these ends and the accomplishment of other new and usefulobjects as will appear, the invention consists in the features of novelty in substantially .the Construction, combination and arrangement of the several parts hereinafter more fully described and'claimedand shown in the accompanying drawings illustrating this invention and in which;

Referring more particularly to the drawings, the numeral 1() designates generally a 'chamber or receptacle which -is supported .in any suitable manner such as by meansof legs 1l. and arranged within the receptacle preferably ata point adjacent the' bottom thereof, is an aspirator or'suctionv 'creating device. The aspirator comprises preferably spaced disks 12, 13, which are separated from each other by means of upright partitions 14C,
and the parts are secured together .in any Suitable manner, such as by means of suitable fastening devices. Two of these partitions 14 are preferably provided and are arranged -diametrically opposite each other, and this aspirator is connected with a shaft 15 in any the bottom ofthe receptacle.

Depending from the `aspirator is a tubular element 22 which rotates in a suitable bearing 23 and extends through the bottom ofA the chamber or receptacle 10. A suitable packing 24 may be provided to forma fluid tight joint and the tubular element 22 has communication .with the end 25 of an inlet pipe 26, through which pipe 26 the gaseous fluid is entrained from a tank or receptacle 27 by means ofthe aspirator. The suction created in the tankor receptacle 27 is manifested inthe inlet pipe 28 and which pipel communicates with the chamber vor passageway 1n which it is desired to create a suction.
, -A check valve 29 may be provided in the pipe 26 so as to prevent the liquid 30 in the swirling in the chamber 10. Y. If desired a suitable overflow may be provided which leads from the tank or receptacle 10 and a cleanout plug vor valve 33 may also be provided in the receptacle 10 above the liquid level there- `in is an outlet 34 for the air or fluid which is delivered into the tank by the aspirator abovethe liquid level. .l
Connected withv the shaft 15 is a force pump, preferably of the centrifugal type and designated generally by the reference. numeral 35 and which force pump has an inlet opening 36 connected with. which is a pipe 37 leading from the tank or receptacle 27, preferably the bottom thereof.

In the form of the invention shown in Fig. 2, the aspirator is arranged in a tank or chamber v41 which isfsuperposed above extends to the outside of the receptacle 42,
and may be provided with a checkvalve 48. The combination of a' chamber containing liquid, a rotary suction producing device submerged in the liquid within the chamber, a rotary pump, means for operating the suction creating device and pump, there being a suction passage through which gaseous fluid is drawn by the suction creating device, an outlet leading from the pump and through which outlet the liquid is discharged, and provisions for separating the liquid and gaseous fluid whereby they will.
