Description

H. B. T000 Eaves-Trough Hangers.
No I36,109." Pate-ntedFe'b..18,1873;

AM, mom-umosmmm ca 11.x ossomwsmacssa) UNITED STATES HENRY .B. TODD, OF PLYMOUTH, CONNECTICUT.
IMPROV EMENT IN EAVES-TROUGH HANGERS.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRYB. ToDD, of the town of Plymouth, in the county of Litchfield and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Eaves-Trough Hangers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being bad to the annexed drawing making a part of this specification,
and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawing is a representation of my improved hanger applied to the eavestrough and fastened to the roof. Fig. 2 is a plan or top view of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
My invention relates to an improvement in eaves-trough hangers or fasteners.
A is a cross-piece, provided with two projections, H,,at each end, fitting into corresponding openings in the trough immediately be neath its upper edge. The trough is sprung,
and these projections are put in place, and the trough allowed to recover its position, the whole making a simple, cheap, and substantial fastening, adequate to the use, and dis pensing with the use of solder. The crosspiece A is also provided with a slot, F, the sides of which are raised above the upper surface of the cross-piece A, through which a elamp'screw O is used to form an adjustable attachment by means of the strap of band} iron D, provided with notches E. By this device the trough can be readily adjusted to any grade for drainage, and readily attached to or removed from the building. The cross-piece A is also provided with ridges G along the center of its upper surface, for the purpose of stiffening and strengthening the cross-piece.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to seoureby Letters Patent, is-
v The cross-piece A having projections H at each end and'ridges'G and slot F, and pro vided with a clamp-screw, G, in combination with the notched band-iron D, forming an adjustable attachment for supporting eaves troughs.
