Description

S. D. GROMER.
BATHING APPARATUS.
'APPLICATION FILED MAR. 8, 1920.
Patented Nov. 23, 192% UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
STANDLEY GROMEBI, TUCSON, ARIZONA.
a BATI-IING APPARATUS.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, STANDLEY D. GROMER,
' a citizen of the United States, residing at Tucson,-in the county of Pima and State of Arizona, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Bathing Apparatus, of which the follo wing is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to bathing apparatus and has for its objects to provide an apparatus of this character which shallconsist of few and simple parts-thatrmay be easily and quickly foldedto a compact package and hence rendered portable; to provide a bathing apparatus which shall be inter changeable with the city water mains and with a container for use where water under pressure is unavailable; to provide an apparatus which shall deliver wat er in variable quantities under the control of the operator to the parts being bathed; while further objects and advantages will appear as the description proceeds.
In the accompanying drawings wherein I have shown an illustrative embodiment of my invention; but without intent to limit myself thereto, Figure 1 is a view showing my apparatus in operative position and ready for use by the bather; Fign2ris a similar view showing my apparatus applied to the city water mains; Fig. 3 is a longltudinal sectional view of one of the bathing mittens; and Fig. 4 is a vertical sectional View thereof. I
Describing the various parts by reference numerals, 1 indicates the main supply tube, consisting preferably of a rubber hose which may be connected at one end to any source of water, such as a container 2 which may be of the collapsible or rigid type or may be connected to the house water mains as indicated at 3. The other end of the hose 1 is connected to a T or Yconnection 4 which diverts the water into each branch 5. The
branches 5-5 may also be made of rubber hose and each projects into abathing mitten 6, between the thumlo and forefinger thereof asillustrated in Figs.3 and 4. The mittens l 6 may be made of any porous material such able material, and each is preferably vided with an elastic wrist band 7 to firmly Specification of Letters Patent. Patented N 23 192 I 1 i V 9 I Application filed March 8, 1920. Serial 110,363,982. I
engage the wrist and prevent the mitten from working loose during the bathing operation. 1
The supply of Water to the mitten conil trolled in themain supply hose by a snapclamp 8 positioned thereon, and also in each 1 of the branches 5by pressure of the thumb and index finger or end ofthe hose inside of each mitten. I
While I have des-cribedrny apparatus as used- 1n connection with water for ordinary bathlng purposes, it will be understood that it is not limited thereto and may also'b e used v for other purposes, such as applying a medito a specific part of the I cated solution anatomy.
Having thus described myinvention, what T is device of the class described comprising a main supply line adapted to be connected to a source of liquid, a plurality of branches extending therefrom the end portion of each ofsaid branches being extended into a hollow porous hand covering at a pointadjacent the operators fingers whereby the supply of liquid thereto may be controlled by pressure of the fingers on said extension,
device of the class described com I prising a main supply line adapted to be connected to a source of liquid, means .for
'controlling'the supply of liquid in said line, ,85
a pair of branches connected to said supply line and extending each into a hollow porous mitten between the thumb and forefinger thereof, said extension being of such length as to permit pressure thereon to control the SVTANDLEYVD. GROMER.
V supply vof liquid independently in each
