JOHN R. WATSON, OF ALLEGHENY CITY, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN SASH-HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 135,184, dated January 21, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN R. WATSON, of the city and county of Allegheny, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Support for Window-Sash; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
My invention relates to furnishing a window-sash with elastic friction rollers pivoted in adjustable bearings, each having a beveled back and being provided with a lug and a setscrew, the said bearings being placed in recesses in the sash, the backs of the said recesses corresponding to the bevel of the bearings, which are adjusted with relation to the -frame through the medium of the set-screws.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to desents the bearings for the elastic friction-rollers G. 'l'he backs of the bearings A are beveled, and the backs of the recesses into which the bearings are placed arelalso beveled corre-- sponding to the beveled backs of the bearings. The bearings A are provided with lugs f, and are moved down and outward in the recesses through the medium of the set-screws e, by which the bearings and their elastic frictionrollers are adjusted with relation to the window-frame A, so as to properly support the sash B in it.
Having thus described my improvement, what I claim as of my invention is- The adjustable bearing A, provided with a beveled back, In g f, and set-screw e, and placed in a recess in the sash B, the back of the said recess being beveled to correspond to the back of the hearing, as hereinbefore described, and for the purpose set forth.
JOHN R. WATSON.
