IMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS FOR LINIMENT.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 134,808, dated January 14, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY J. KrNTz, of the town of Greece, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Medical (J0mpounds; and I dohereby declare the following to be a full and exact description of the same, sufficient to enable those skilled in the art to which it appertainsto understand and compound and make use of the same.
The nature of my invention consists in mixing castor-oil, glycerine, alcohol, bay-rum, port-wine, oil of winter-green, and berg-amot into one compound, the object of which is to make an unctuous liniment to be applied to the human body.
To prepare the compound, I take castoroil, two ounces; glyceriiie, one ounce; alcohol,
three ounces; bay-rum, one ounce; port-wine,
ical composition is formed from these ingredicuts. The thorough incorporation of the compound may be facilitated by heating to any temperature below the boiling-point, after which it is ready for use.
I have used this compound as a liniment in my family and on my own person for the cure of flesh-wounds, sprains and bruises, chapped hands and rough skin, and believe it to be the best remedy for these and all cutaneous diseases ever invented.
Havingdescribed my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The compound consisting of castor-oil, glycerine, alcohol, bayrum, portwine, oil of winter-green, and bergamot, in the manner substantially as herein described and specified.
