Description

AAAAAAAAAA N EILED FEB. 2o@ 1920. f l ,620, I Patented. July 27, 1920.
UNITED STATES BENJAMIN R. DAY, OF WINFIELD, KANSAS.
PHOTOGRAPHER S- DEVELOPING-RACK.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patenten July 2v, i920.
Application filed Februari7 20, 1920. Serial No. 360,221.
To all u1/wm t may concern.'
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN R. DAY, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Vinlield, in the county of Cowley and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Photographers Developing-Racks, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to photographers developing racks and it has for its object the provision of device of the character indicated constructed in such manner that it may be manufactured at a very small cost and will conveniently support a plurality of lilms during the development ofthe same and will provide means for removing said i films from the developing bath after development of the saine has been completed.
Further objects and advantages of the invention will be set forth in the detailed description which now follows.
ln the accompanying drawing- Figure l is a plan view of a rack constructed in accordance with theA invention; and
Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof.
In the drawing, in which like numerals fflesignate corresponding parts in both of the figures, 5 designates a central vertical web that has soldered or otherwise secured thereto a horizontal base web 6 upon which the structure as a whole is supported. Side plates 7 and 8 lie in spaced relation to the central web 5 anda corrugated web 9 extends up one side of the structure and down the other side thereof, filling the space between the web 5 and the side plates 7 and 8 and being secured to said web and side plates by soldering or otherwise. Thus a large number Yof substantially triangular openings 10 are formed of a sizesothat when a. film is .folded as indicated at 'il said lilm will be held and supported during development without creasing of the same.
The structure is such as to hold Ithe-several lilms against movement with relation to each other whereby the possibility of abra-V sion or scratching of the gelatinous surfaces of the same is guarded against.
The central web 5 projects a su'llicient distance above the side plates 7 and 8 to provide a convenient hand grasp by which the Ventire structure may be lifted from the developing bath.
It is to be noted that while the side pla- tes 7 and 8 tie the several convolutions of the corrugated plates together to thereby hold them in proper relation said corrugated web ties the side plates to the central web 5 so that a structure of great rigidity is produced.
It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the precise construction set forth but that it includes within its purview whatever changes fairly come within either the terms or the spirit of the appended claims.
Having described my invention what I Vclaim and desirev to secure by Letters Patent is l. A device of the character described comprising a central upstanding web and a supporting base in combination with a corrugated web extending up one side and down the other side of the central web.
2. A device of the character described comprising a central upstanding web, a horizontal base web, a pair of side plates spaced from the central web and a corrugated web extending along each side of the central web and secured to the central web and to the side plates.
3. A device of the character describedr comprising an upstanding, central, longitudinal web, a horizontal base web secured thereto, a pair of side plates lying in spaced relation to the central web, a corrugated web lying between the side plates and the rcentral web and extending along each side l BENJAMIN R. DAY.
