vice which. is formed with a closed end 2 and an open end 3. The body may be made from any desired material, as for instance some good grade of textile fabric. The device may be made of different shapes, but is preferably formed from a rectangular piece of cloth folded longitudinally along a central line and then the opposite edges connected by a line of stitching 4. End is then closed by a line of stitching 5. This produccs a long, slender, straight alled bag. When it is desired to use the device the body is first thoroughly wet and then inflated. by blowing with the mouth, or by waving the device in the air with the open end 3 facing the direction of movement. After the device has been inflated it may be secured to the body in a number of different ways, as for instance by being tied with a cord, or by passing the device around the body of the person using the device and tying the ends as shown in Fig. 1.
\Vhat I claim is:
A device to be used in learning to swim consisting of a long flexible open ended tube adapted to encircle the body of a wearer, and relatively narrow whereby when blown up its ends may be tied together thus serving the double purpose of holding the device in place 011 a wearer and detaining the air as and for the purposes set forth.
