The front and rear legs 3 have forwardly extending catches A designed to project through the corresponding straps, or U-bolts 5, which are secured to the floor 1. Behind the chairs and secured to the floor are the elevated flanges 6, 6. A bar 7 is slid endwise under said flanges and between them and the back legs of the chairs to lock the chair against displacement and to secure the catches 4: in the straps 5.
The back'legs of the chairs have hooks 8, which ordinarily serve as hangers for hats and the like, but when it is desired to move the chairs, thebar 7 may be removed and deposited on the hooks 8 and the catches A are then readily disengaged.
