Switzerland, have invented new and use-.
'ful Improvements in Braiding-Machines, of which the following is a't'ulh'clear', and exact" specification.
The known braiding bobbins in braiding machines, which travel in a grooved guideplate, have ordinarily at their lower spindle I as end a shuttle-like elongated sliding shoe,
by means of which they are guided in the groove of the guide-plate. In this arrange: ment, owing to the fixed position and to the relatively great longitudinal extent of this sliding shoe, it frequently happens that in sharp. curves "of the guiding groove there occur'considerable strains in thesame which cause great friction and wear as well as a disagreeable noise.
The 7 present invention obviates "these drawbacks 'According to the invention, the braiding bobbins ot a braiding machine are provided at their lower spindle ends with at least one pair of short, independent sliding shoes, which are arranged one behind the other inthe same'longitud nal path and are each rotatable about'an axis parallel to that of the bobbin, so that they 'are'abl'eto adapt themselves automatically in all the curved parts of the guide-way of the guide-plate to the corresponding curvature'of the same.
There results therefrom a smoothand easy traveling of the braiding bobbin with only a little friction and almost Without noise.
Preferably the braiding bobbin has two such pairs of sliding shoes in parallel arrangement to each other and at such a relative distance from each other that the sliding shoes of the two pairs can be caused to slide along bothsides of a guide-rib or rail, whirh insures a good and sure guidance of the bobbin Without staggering, the bobbin being in some respect by its shoe pairs put in riding position over'the guide-rail.
To allow of rotation of theesliding shoes,
they may be mounted for example on rotary disks rotatably engaged in the spindle foot of the bobbin. These rotary disks may be provided with peripheric grooves and guided therebyin rolling contact on afixed intermediate guide-pin carried by the spin- 3 die foot of the bobbin.
