Be it known that I. Humeur F. Knax'rz, residingiy at lh'ooklyn. in the county ol Kings and State ot' New York, have invented/certain znew and uset'ul Improvements in Oilbwitch Boxes, ot' which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an oil switch.
A. particular objectot' the invention is to provide an oil switch ol a character such that. oil contained therein may be readily displaced` without likelihood ot loss, tor the purpose ol inspect-ingrv and repairing any oil the moving` parts ot" the mechanism.
A t'urther object is to provide an oil switch which isfparticularly adapted for use in connection with safety panel boxes and the like.
A. tui-ther object is to provide a switch mechanism pivoted to swinginto and out ot' operative position7 and which, when out of operative position, may be swung vinto a substantially horizontal, or table-like, position for ready inspection and repair.
A.-further object is to provide. a switch i'nechanism, in association with a safety panel box` pivotally mounted so as to swing rigid contact portions ot' the switch mechanism into and out of electrical connection with contact parts fixed within the box, and said switch mechanism includinpr a switch blade operable to control the electrical connection between said rig-id contacts, together with means for insuring' an off position of the switch blade when said rigid contact parts are swung.

A conductor 2 extends upwardly through the bottom wall, being' suitably insulated as at 3, and a conductor 4 extends downwardly thro'ugh the top wall. beine` suitably insulated as at 5. The conductors 2 and i are substantially in axial alinement in spaced contact portions 6 and 7 within the pocket l so that said con tact portions are entirely beneath the oil 8 which contained wit-hin said pocket.
Exteriorly of the lower wall of the pocket the conductor 2 terminates in a contact member 9, while the conductor 1t tern'linates in a contact member l0 above the upper wall of the casing.
The contact members 9 and 10 constitute the parts above referred to as rigid contact parts of the switch mechanism.

Having thus described my invention what l claim as new and desire to secure hy lietters Patent is l. ln an oil switch, an oil reservoir having switch mechanism therein, means whereby the reservoir may be moved to displace the oil therefrom, and an auxiliary reservoir integral therewith to receive the oil from the iirst reservoir.
