The modification shown in Figs. 6 to 10 manner asin the preferred form of standard shown in Figs. 1 to .5, having a screw 18 above the tubular extension 17 and a set screw 38,-the-same as the clamping plates 13 and 14. The outer end 31 of the bracket 1() is provided with a horizontally flat portion having a hole therethrough to receive the downwardly projecting screw pin with the washer 33 and nut 34: thereon. The upper end 35 of the lower part 3G is flat and diskshaped and has thehole 37 therethrough to receive the clamping bolt or screw 38 through the hole 39 in the disk shaped lower ends 40 of the clamping plates 2.9 and 30 to thereby adjustably cla-mp the flat ,sides of the disk 35.
It is apparent that the modification has the double clamping plates and may be adjusted both horizontally and vertically 'the saine as the preferred form of standard with its lower portion 12 and clamping plates 13 and 14 as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. Said form as shown in Figs. 1 and Q is )referred because of .the ease with which the plates 13 and 14 may be-clamped upon the beveled disk shaped -upper end 15 of the lower part 12, the screw 1G holdipg said clamping portions 13 and 1t firmly in position thereon with a small amount of force in comparison with the force -necessary to clamp the disk shaped ends 40 on the'opposite sides of the disk 35 in palt 36.
The rearward extension comprises the tube 17 and switch casing 41 which is attached on the rear end. of the part 17 by screw 42. The push switch 43 is provided with removable pins 41 so that the ring 45 containing the switch mechanism may. be inserted within the rear end of the switch casing 41 and the metal cap 46 may be placed over the rear end of the switch casing41, said cap 16 and switch casing 41 having holes 47 in tlieopposite sides into which the removable p'ns 44 may beinscrted and attached in the ring,r of the switch 13 preferably with a Slip socket joint. rl `his arrangementipermits the quick' and easy assemblage or dismemberment of said rez'irwzrd extension to adjust the wiring or for repairing the; parts. At the same time the bulb formed by the switch case 41 'and cap 46 forms a. convenient bulbous shaped handle by which the lamp can be turned in any direction, the extension 17 giving suliicient leverage for said adjustment. The electric lamp 27 is connected directly to the source. of electrical energy by the positive wire 24 and the negative wire 23 1s broken by the push switch 43 so as to turn the light on or oli as desired. It will be noted that thev plug 22 and inner socket sleeve 21 are held in definite relation by means ot' the set screw-20. This position of the electric bulb lamp 27 is maintained at all times after the lampis assembled,4 and the focusing of the lamp is accomplished by-sliding the reflector 28 and 4the tube 17 backward or forward as desired, it only being necessary to slightly loosen the .clamping screws 16 and 18 to permit said sliding action of said tube and rellector.
I claimasnew:
1. In a lamp mounting, in combination with a lamp having 'a rear extension, a bracket, a standard-like member adj ust-able in a vertical plane borne by the bracket and having a horizontal disk Von its upper end, a pair of opposed clamping members formed to elampingly engage over the-peri-phery of the diskat their lower portions and formed to elampinglyengage over the lamp extension at their upper portions, and means to secure the pair of clamping members in clamping relation to the disk and lamp extension.,
In a. lamp mounting, in combination with a lamp having a rearextension, a bracket, a lower standard-like member borne by the bracket and having a disk, an upper sectional clamping member clamped at one end about oppositesides of the disk and at its other end about the lamp extension, means to permit one of the members to be rotatively adjusted in a horizontal plane, and means to permit the other member to be adjusted in a vertical plane.-
3. A mounting for lamps comprising a bracket, a lamp having a rear extension thereon, a three-part connection between said lamp and bracket consisting of a lower portion pivotally attachedon said bracket and having a. disk at its upper end, and two clamping plates {a'otatively adjustable on said lower portioi at right angles to the plane ot rotation"of said lowerportion on said bracket to clanp both said disk on said lower portion at one end of the plates '/nd said rear extension of said lamp at the other end oflthe plates.
4. In a lamp mounting, in combination with a lamp having a. rear extension thereon, a bracket having a threaded pin on its outer end, a three-part connective standard rotatively mounted on said pin having means to hold the same in an adjusted position, a disk shaped upper end on the lower portion of 'said-standard, and clamping plates rotatively attached to said disk shaped upper end of said lower portion of said standard and clamping around .said
