To all whom it may concern Be it known thatl, JACKSON 0. Harms,
a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Mountpleasant, county of Maury,
and State of Tennessee, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fore- Trucks, of whlch the following is a. spec1ficat-ion.
more particularly to fore trucks used in connection'with wheeled scrapers, and other animal drawn wheeled applianc'es,l an object being to provide a simple, cheapand an erlicient device whereby undue strain will be taken from the draft animals neck and shoulders, and also permit short turning on all conditions of land.
\Vith this and other objects in View, my invention consists in certain novel features of construction, arrangement and combination of parts as will be hereafter fully pointed out in the specification and claims, reference being had to the drawing forming a part hereof,in which, 7

In carrying out my invention, the fore truck comprises essentially a frame consisting of upper and lower cross beams 10 and 11 made of metal and intermediate beams 12 of less length than the top and bottom cams, and diagonally disposed braces 13 at each end which meet at about midway between the upper and lower beams, leaving a space'at each end in which the upright posts l t of stub axles 15 are pivot-ally held between the ends of the upper and lower beams. The intermediate beams 12'are maintained spaced apart by connecting pieces or blocks 12 which have their inner or opposed faces beveled as indicated at 12 so that the tongue member 28 may be swung to its limit laterally and contact with an oblique surface instead of striking a sharp corner and thus prevent breakage ofthe tongue.
