To all whom it may concern: Be it known that 1, JOHN BERLIEN, a citi= zen of the United States, and resident ofbeing reversible so as to retain the same in position'when the lock is not in. use and to reverse it with little difliculty for locking I the steering wheel whenever it becomes necessary to do so.

,In the general construction of my inven-. tion I provide a suitable frame 9 which is constructed preferably of a casting of durable and tough material, the same being so arranged asto fit against the steering colum 10 of an automobile, and the same is positioned on the column in close proximity to the steering wheel 11. This casting is firmly held on the column 10 by means of bands 12, which encircles the column. Having fully described my invention what I claim is:
1. A lock of the character described comprising a skeleton casting firmly attached to the steering column of an automobile and in close proximity with the steering wheel, a reversible member arr: nged to be inserted inthe supporting member, a lock for locking the same in position therein, and a bifurcated projection forming a part of the locking member which bifurcation straddles one of the spokes of the steering wheel, and cross bars formed in the casting with which the reversible member is locked substantially as specified.

A device of the character described comprising a casting, the same provided with flange cross-bars and a plurality of depressions in its face, bands supporting the casting on the steering column of an automobile, a locking member provided with ears which are arranged to .be inserted in the depressions of the casting a lock tooth formed on one end of the locking member and designed to contact withthe inner edge of a portion orthe casting, a lock located in the casting to Contact with one of the cross-bars and a bifurcated extension form ing a part of the locking member and which is designed to straddle one of the spokes of the steering Wheel, substantially as specified.
3. A lock of the character described com prising a supporting casting which is rigidly supported to the steering column, cross bars formed in the casting against Which the locking member is locked, a removable and reversible bifurcated locking member sup-.
ported in the casting, a means formed on the locking member for engaging with the steering wheel and a lock for supporting the locking member in the casting either in locked or unlocked position, the arrangement of the members being such as to permit the locking member to be held and locked in a reverse position, substantially as specified.
