To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT E.NVALDEN, a citizen ofy the United States, residing at Baltimore, in the State 'of Maryland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements -in Ozone-Generators, of which the fol lowing is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in ozone generators and the' object of this invention .is to provide in an ozone generator a construction that is simple and easlly disassembled and repaired, and one that will allowv cooling of both the inner and outer electrodes, or both -inner and outer` electrodes and dielectric, by means of Water, air or other suitable fluid or liquid, or' a combination of liquids, fluids and air. Further to so construct the said ozone generator that the parts can be readily removed, repaired or replaced, and in which the operation can be noted and the size of the units reduced to I such an extent that in case one fails to operate it will have no appreciable effect on the operation of the system as a whole.
The invention consists of the novel construction and arrangement of the parts andl combination of parts hereinafter more fully set forth in the following specifications and pointed out in detail in the appended claims.

Referring to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification, and'in which like letter references designate like.
parts throughout the several view thereof, I designates an outer ease which is made of cast iron or other suitable material, having a top D of suitable material, but preferably of glass or other transparent material, and an inlet chamber M at, one end, provided with the inlet pipeE, and an outlet chamber N at the opposite end (one or both ends of which` are removable), provided with an inletY and outlet pipe H for the cooling medium. .Between the chambers M and AN is an air chamber O 'formed by insulators C,
C, near each end thereof, which are provided with recesses X in the vertical center thereof, into which .pro-ject the ends of the outer electrode B, which latter may be in one piece or in sections held together by spring rings R, or other device. The openings P in the insulators, through which the inner dielectric and electrode pass, are slightly larger than the inner electrode and provide gas or an' passages that communicate with the 'spaces S and T, which latter are provided with inlet and outlet pipes J and K respectively for the inlet and outlet of the air to be ozonized. The dielectric A is made of glass, quartz or other suitable material and may have a coating of metal on its,4 inner surface if desired, in which event it would also act as both dielectric and electrode, and is placed within andv projects through the -outer electrode B, leaving a space there-v to the case I. trics so as to allow air or gas to pass to chambers S and T, andV through the inner partition of and terminating in the chambers M and N. The said inner partitions of Vbrass stuliing boxes U having the nuts V threaded thereon and withsuitable packing W to form an airl and water tight joint. The chamber O also has an inlet F and outthe chambers M and N are provided with let G through which the air passes to cool the outer electrode B. The electric current is supplied through the wires L and L1, the latter being connected to the case I and grounded. l
It should be noted here` that this constructionp-rovides for cooling both the inner and outer electrode as AWell as a construction that will permit of the removal of any sulfate that may be deposited on the electrodes.
While I have shown my vinvention (ie-- signed to opera-te horizontally, it is obvious that the same may be used vertically with slight changes in the construction thereof. AThe operation ofthe device is as follows:

acts as the inner electrode where water or a non-insulating liquid is employed for cooling, but with oil `or a similar liquid or gas the inner dielectric must be coated with Lmetalor foil, or have an additional inner tube within the same which is the case.
.It is evident to those skilled in the art that alteration in the arrangement and conconnected to struction of the parts, or combination of parts may be within the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit of my present invention,
Having thus described my invention, what l claim is: f

An ozone generator comprising a casing with a plurality of compartments, ,two of which have removable ends, and three of which are formed by the insulators and outer electrode; one or more outer electrodes mounted within said casing and having an inlet and outlet; and one or more dielectrics mounted within said outer lelectrodes and having inlets and outlets and a. space between said inner dielectric and electrode.

An ozone generator comprising a casing having a chamber at each end thereof, one of which has an inlet andthe othervan outlet; insulators within said casing and between said chambers forming additional chambers, an outer electrode having` its ends mounted and secured within said insulators to maintain the proper relation to the inn'er dielectrics, and having an inlet and an outlet, an inner dielectric or dielectrics extending through said outer electrode and insulators and maintained concentrically therein and providing a space therebetween, and.
having their ends extending through stuiiing boxes and terminating in the said chambers at each end of lthe casing.
5. An ozone generator comprising a casing having a central chamber provided with an inlet and an' outlet, Tand a small chamber at each end of said central chamber, one of which is provided' with an inlet and the other with an outlet, an insulator secured near each end of said central chamber forming a space between each insulator and the end chambers, one off which is provided with an inlet andthe other with an outlet, an outer electrode having its ends projecting into said insulators and communicating with the Spaces between the insulators and the end chambers, and an inner dielectric eXtendling 'through said outer electrode and insulators .and having its ends terminating in the said end'chambers.A
