v I have' provide-d aspeciel agitat'oryshown inplen'in Fig. 3, fonuse'with' feediitr this condition. It has the form of a skeleton frame 1 having roundedwend 0y continuing into parallel extensions P connected` atfthei-r outer ends by af portion* Q. Parallelto the extensions P and lyingbetweem them.` is a substantially oenftralextensien-R pivotedat S upon: the bottom E eithe machines. g Said agitatorfhas anu-puferdly bent extension., T Whichlies outside the si'de' B and the slide J substantially as shown` in' Fig `The cross' section et the rounded-'inner endy and the extension P is as `shown inyFig. 4. Tha-t is to say, the` outer edges Vot the `nier-itioned Y parts are lcomparative'ly thin-while the inside edges are somewhat thicker, also the part Qis thin at its inner edge andthick at its outer edge. portion Q lies substantially beneath the slide J.
The extension T lying position tobeV operatedby the animalV in feeding is swung from side to side on its vpivotto-'agitate the feed andwork it down into the trough G.
The broken" lines in-Fig.` 31 show the posi-`V tions taken'iup by theagitator Vinits extreme kpositions and it willv be clearly: understood that since the outer edges Within Vthe machine are narrowest they lwill cut'underfthe, caked feedwhile thek inner thicker edges will moveV i the feed over the bottom E, each succeeding movement'workingthe feed closer. to thek frontfinallydepositing.it inthe trough at thevlowest portion'of the l.inclined bottom. vThislform of agitator linafeeding machine operatingzwith'caked feed, oil cake,
or condition powder, and the like, has been Vfound to produce `most excellent results. e p
The pivot point S of the agitator is spaced from thecenter from which the curved extension O is described. andlies between the inner andouter ends 'of the structure so that the said Vcurved extension-,will'have a side-V wise; swing andv cut beneath the material in the same way as the` extensions P, the extensions swinging in opposite directions.

therewill be no-chance,wtherefo`re, for the material: to 'lodge' above y the agitator and stop-moving'downward. Y
