Description

R. G. CASTILLO.

APPLICATION FILED FEB. 18. 1918.

RICARDO GARIBAY CASTILLO, OF MEXICO, MEXICO.
NON -REFILLABLE BOTTLE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 17, 1919.
Application filed February 18, 1918. Serial No. 217,921.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RICARDO GARIBAY CASTILLO, citizen of the United Mexican States, residing at Mexico city, Federal District, Mexico, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in N oil-Refillable Botties, of which the following is a specification.
This invention refers to a non-refillable bottle and has for its object to provide a simple attachment whereby it is possible to avoid unauthorized filling of the bottle when it has once been emptied.
The device is shown in the accompanying drawing in which Figure l is an elevation of the bottle showing the neck portion in a vertical cross section, and Fig. 2 is a vertical fractional cross section of the neck on a different line.
Referring to the drawing, (1) is the body of the bottle (2) the neck portion provided with an inside guiding slot (3) terminating in a small depression (4:), At the lower and inner part of said neck is an annular shoulder (5) upon which the perforated stopper (6) rests. Forced into this stopper is the flanged valve body (7 to which the valve member (8) is hinged at (9), in such a manner that it may only open up 45 degrees, due to the projecting stop lugs (10).
Above the valve is a plug (11) provided on one side with a slot (12) that communicates with the perforation (13) from which the pou: Tug slot (14:) extends. In the lower part of said plug (11) is a pin (15) inserted and forced outwardly by the spring (16) so as to be permanently held in the depression (4) once the plug has been seated in the neck. NVithin the neck, above the plug 11, is a stopper 1?.
When the filling of liquid into the bottle ias been performed, the perforated stopper (6), made of cork, rubber or any other resilient material, is inserted in the neck, then the valve body (7) is placed in the stopper (6), and the plug (11) is introduced next by pressing the pin (15) into its housing against pressure of the spring (16), turning the plug until the pin (15) hits the slot (3), whereupon the plug is pushed down and the pin slides into the recess (4), from where it could not possibly escape. It is obvious that without breaking parts of the bottle neck it is impossible to refill the bottle.
Having thus described my invention what claim is:
A bottle having a neck which has a shoulder near its inner end, an apertured stopper mounted within the neck and contacting with the shoulder, a tube inserted within the aperture of the stopper and having its up per end projecting above the same and provided at its upperend with an annularflange, a vertically swinging valve arranged above the annular flange to contact therewith, a hinge connecting the valve and annular flange and positively preventing the valve being swung upwardly beyond substantially forty-five degrees, a plug in the neck above the valve and having a tortuous passage, means to look the plug in the neck, and a stopper within the neck above the plug.
In testimony whereof I have affixed my signature.
RICARDO GARIBAY CASTILLO.
