To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that'I, J ENS PEI'ER HANsnN, a subject of the King of Denmark, and residing at Nr.,10 Jacobys Alle, Copenhagen, Denmark, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Apparatus for Developing, Fixing, and Vashing of Photographic Films and Plates, of which the following is a specification.
My invention concerns an apparatus to be used for the developing, fixing and washing of photographic films and plates.
In, distinction from the apparatus for this use, now known my invention'has the advantage,.th'at films or plates in single envelop may be inserted and developed in full daylight and also that considerably smaller quantities of solutions for developing and fixing are needed, owing to the form of the tank. I
The apparatus is shown in the drawing in 1 one form of execution, but it will be understood, that the form and fitting-up of the separate parts need not to be exactly as shown in the drawing; but all the separate parts may be altered and varied in different ways, without the principle for the invention being deviated from.

wedge shapedand with a hole in the side close to thebottom, from which a small tube 2 is connected with a funnel 3, fastened to the side of the vessel. The bottom may slope downward against said hole in order to drain the tank thoroughly. i
The tank is provided with a cover 4, which consists of a frame with cylindrical india rubber cushions 5 firmly secured in bearings inthe frame, which cushionspreferably may be made of very soft rubber'on hard cores 6,01? wood for example and which may be easily applied fixed 0r movable in the frame of the cover.
The core 6 is rectangular, while the rubber layer is of oval cross-section, so that two air cushions 11 (Fig. 7) are formed, which tend to secure a yielding and light-tight connection.
Above the cover is' a sliding lid 7 in the interior of which is a notch with incisions 8 so that there are a pair of incisions above the middle of each rubber cushion, whereby a better light-tightness between the cushions is attained.
With my invention, film envelope shown in. Figs. 8 and 9 are designed to be used. These envelops a consists of a back plate 1 of opaque thick paper having a holding ribbon 6, and a cover-plate 9'. The long tudinal edges of this back plate are bent and one short edge 4' is also bent, and the longitudinal edges and the edge 4 are then fastened together, and along the opposite short edge of the back plate the longitudinal edges are connected by a ribbon 6'. ' Owing to the wedge-form of the apparatus its capacity is much smaller than that of usual, corresponding tanks, so that less quantities-of chemicals are employed and by usin per the film envelops of a special kind ect light-tightness during the develop- .ing may be'secured.
Having now described my invention I desire to secure by Letters Patent.
1. An apparatus for developing, fixing and washing a film or plate in an envelop having a flexible cover plate, said apparatus comprising a tank, a frame on the tank, cushions carried by the frame and between which the enveloped film or plate is'intro: duced, a member above the frame and having means for engaging a portion of the said ions.
2. An apparatus for developing, fixing and washing a film orplate in an envelop having a flexible cover plate, said apparatus comprising a tank, a frame on the tank,
