My invention relates to ineens for `feeding liquid fuel from a. supply tank to e ce1 bureter of an internal combustion engine.
The principal object of tlie invention. is
to reise the liquid fuel from e.' lower point to a higher point so that the liquid may loe ed by gravity to` the engine from this higher point.
Another object of the invention is to lift the liquid .by a vacuum created 'by the action of the' engine.
A. further object of the invention. is to provide positive means for breaking tie vacuum when enough fuel lies reached tli receptacle-et the higher point, so es to permit the fuel at this point to feed to the engine by Gravity.

Thus the vacuum is set up again and the receptacle is again filled as before.
By reason of the vent 20, the fuel in the pipe 5 Will .continue to feed to the carbureter, though the valve G is closed, by reason of the vacuum in the receptacle, it being understood that there Will be enough fuel in the pipe 5 to run the engine until the receptacle is full and feeding of the fuel to the pipe 5 begins again. As will be noted, the conical bottom 2 forms a sediment ohainlber and this can be cleaned out `by means of the cock 11.
It is thought from the foregoing that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
/I desire it to be vunderstood that I may make slight changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of thc several part-s, provided such changes fall Withinthe scope of the appended claims.
I claim as my invention:
1. A vacuum feeding system comprising a` receptacle connected to the storage tank and with the intake manifold of the engine to create a vacuum in the receptacle to cause fuel to flow into the receptacle from the tank, a rod slidably mounted in saidlreceptacleya. valve thereon controlling the eonneetion With the manifold, upper and lower stops on said rod, a lioat slidably mounted upon said rod, and a receptacle always containing fuel to constitute a weight connected to said float and slidably mounted upon said rod for transmitting movement ih said rod when the liquid in the firstnamed receptacle attains a low level and the second named receptacle engages with the lowfermost stop to move said valve away from the connection with the manifold', for setting up another vacuum.
2. A vacuum feeding system comprising a receptacle connected to the storage tank and with the intake manifold of an engine, a lioat in said receptacle, means operated by the float for controlling the connect-ion with the manifold, a valve casing secured to the lower side of said receptacle, a valve seat in said casino a 'ball valve. in said v. .w casing, an outlet pipe connected to the side .of said casing `adjacent the valve seat and connecting said receptacle to the earbureter, a vertical vent pipe secured to the top of said valve easing and having a valve seat to receive said ball valve when the receptacle is filled, and said valve seat of the valve casing being adapted to receive said ball valve While a vacuum is being created in the receptacle so as to open said vent pipe to permit free air to force the fuel in the outlet pipe into the oarbureter.
