To all whom it may] concern:
Be it known that l, RAY H. Manson, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Circuit- Gontrollers; and I do hereby declare the fol lowing to be a full, clear, and exact descriptionof the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This application is a division of my application No. 839,217, filed May 18, 1914.
My invention relates to improvements in push button circuit controllers and the like, and has for its principal object the provision of a simple device of the class described, which can be easily operated and cheaply constructed. 1 also aim to produce a device of the character described which will be operated by a slight movement of the movable member thereof, no matter at which pointv the power is applied thereto.
Although my device has many uses, it is of especial use in controlling the warning signal of an automobile, where the driver generally operates the controller without looking at the same. In order to meet the requirements of this and. other uses, it is dcsirable to expose to the touch. a large operative area, so that no matter where the mom able member is touched, the circuit controller will be operated and the circuit closed.
Other objects of my invention and the invention itself will be better understood from a description of a particular embodiment of the invention. In the drawing l have illustrated a particular embodiment of my 111- vention.

Referring now to the drawings and to the embodiment shown therein, at is shown Divided and this application filed December 13,
the base for carrying the contact members and is here made of insulating material and is cylindrical in shape. At 55 and 56 are shown the terminal parts to which the conductors 70 and 71 are connected. The screws of the parts 55 and 56 extend through the base 53, and are electrically connected to the contacts 59 and 60. The terminal 56 and contact 59 are connected through a spring 57, which is bent over intermediate its ends and connected through a short limb to the terminal 56. The contact 59 is mounted near the end of the other limb 58 of the spring 57.
As will be seen, particularly in Fig. 3, the spring 57 is adapted to be bent still. further, unt l the contact 59 engages the contact 60, closing the circuit controller. The stationary parts of the device are shown generally at and the movable parts, at 51. The statiouarypart 50 includes the base and the terminals and contacts carried thereby, and a casing which is best made cylindrical inform. The movable member 51 consists of Patented Mar. at, 3 .919.

Means are provided for connecting the parts 51 and 50 together in such a manner as to permit both sliding and rock ng movement of the one with respect to the other, and at the same time to always retain the two parts in opcrat relation. As here showii, a plate 62 is connected upon the bottom of the mem- 51 by means of some suitable connecting means, such as screws 63, which project into the insulating material of which the member 51 is cranposed in tie embodiment shown. This plate extends at 6% beyond the body portion oi the member 51, forming a peripheral flange or catch which engages the catch upon the stationary member 50. This side of said flange, the edges of the button extending beyond and down war the top of the. casing and a projection on the bottom of the button normally engaging said spring contact between the ends thereof and adapted when the button is-eithei tilted or depressed streight down to cause said contaste to engage.
