' To all whom it concern 1 Be it known that I,.JosnrH Human, a citizen of the Republic of Russia, and resident of the boroughof-Brooklyn, in thecity and State of New York, have invented a new anduseful Improvement in Motor-Propolled Balloons, of which the following is ofthe location of the weight on the car.

A series of radially arranged levers 16 are fulcrumed at 17 to the platform 15. The inner ends of these. levers are connected by links 18 to the under side of the deck 13. The outer ends of these levers are connected by links 19 to the top of the tank 10.

The platform 20 is rigidly maintained in osition. on the bar 6 by a series of inner races 25, 26, and a series of outer braces 27.
The car is provided with four suitable side frames '28, in the lower ends of which are journaled traction wheels 29.
Two propellin means are mounted on the platform 20. l n the present instance I have shown two front screw propellers 30 and their engines mounted upon opposite sides of a pilot-house 31. This platform may also carry thefuel tank 32.
Auxiliary propelling means are provided beneath and in proximity to the nose of the balloon, which propelling means are herein shown as two screw propellers 33, and their engines located upon opposite sides of a pilot-house 34, carried by a platform 35 ri gidly secured to the balloon by suitable guys and rods 36, 37. A ladder 38 may be usedas a means of connection between the platform 20 and the platform 35. v
The compensatingconnection between the platform '20 and the balloon whereby the tained in' a substantially horizontal position irrespective of the tilting and rolling action of the balloon, is herein shown as asystem of longitudinal and transverse guys 39, 40, secured to the platform 20 and passing over a series of pulleys 41, located at different points along the body of the balloon. The longitudinal guys all passover platform and its suspending car are mainpulleys Q carried by theen'circling band 8 1n the transverse plane of'the car support ing bar 6.
From the above description, it will be seen that the auxiliary propelling means located beneath and in proximity to the nose of the balloon, is connected rigidly to the balloon.
It will also beseen that the car is main-.
tained in a substantially stable equilibrium as the balloon tilts or rolls. It will also be seen that the lever connection between the compensating tank 10 and the deck 13 of the car will maintain the car in a horizontal position when the weight of the car is distributed unevenly.
It is evident that slight changes may be resorted to in the form, construction and arrangement of the several parts without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention; hence I do not wish to limit mygolf strictly to the structure herein set forth, ut I What I claim is 1. In a -motor propelled balloon, a car flexibly suspended from the'balloon, and
automatically acting liquid-controlled counterbalancing means formaintaining the car in a horizontal position when weight is distributed unevenly thereon, said means including a horizontally arranged liquid carrying shallow tank and compensating connections between the tank and car;
2. In a motor propelled balloon, a car suspended from the-balloon, and counterbalancing means for maintaining the car in ahorizontal position when weight is distributedunevenly thereon, said means including a horizontally arranged liquid carrying shallow tank, a platform interposed between the tank and car deck, and a series of radiating levers fulcrumed on the platform and con nected at their outer and inner ends respec tively to the tank and car deck.,

In a motor propelled balloon, a car suspended from the balloon, and counterbalanclng means for maintaining the car in a horizontal position when weight is distributed unevenly thereon, said means including upper and lower platforms, flexible connections between them and the car deck, a horizontally arranged liquid carrym 'a liquid carryin shallow tank ends respectively to the balloon and tank,
and compensating connections betweenthe tank and car.
5. In a'motor propelled balloon, a car 511$:

6. In a motor propelled balloon, a car suspended from the balloon, and counterbalancing means for maintaining the carin a horizontal position when weight is distrib uted unevenly thereon, said means including tank, a suspendi bar flexibly connec at its upper and ower ends respectively to the balloon and tank, an upper platform fixedto the bar, above the car, a lower platform located between the car deck and tank, a peripheral series of flexible connections between the 'twoplatforms and car deck, and a system of radiating levers fulcrumed on the lower platform and connected at their outer and inner ends respectively to the tank and car deck.
