To all whom it may concern:

'Be it known that I, ZACK Gr. ULDEAM,

a citizen of the United States, residing at Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in BOXlIlg-Gl0V6S, of which the'following is a specification.

This invention relates to boxing gloves, and has for its object to provide an improved boxing. glove which will be superior in point of relative simplicity and inexpensiveness of construction and organization, taken in conjunction with extended life and increased durability, increased resilience of elasticity as to the cushioning element or elements thereof, which will provide more effectively for maintaining the cushioning elements thereof in even distribution and disposition, and which will be generally superior in efliciency and ser'vice'ability and convenience 1n assembllng or repair of parts.

With the above and other ob]ects in view, the inventlon consists 1n the novel and useful provlsion, formation, construction, combination, association .and inter-relation of parts, members and features, all as hereinafter described, shown in the drawing, and finally pointed out in claims.

However, the blow of the glove is not robbed of all i of its salutary and health-giving efiects, nor a of those aggressive results which, among sturdy and healthy contestants, are relished rather than feared or avoided. Furthermore, the inherent tendency of the filling element- 7. to maintain its even distribution, prevents the filling from becoming bunched or missults that the knuckles or other portions of the hand are not inadvertently, and cannot even intentionally, be bared to produce more is strenuous and damaging blows than expected from the hand properly covered by a boxing glove. In the use of gloves as ordinarily organized in standard practice, the padding or filling may readily be shifted or displaced, being of a' loose and easily separated or subdivided or shifted nature or character, and this permits the user to unfairly vary the striking quality of his glove so as to take advantage of his adversary. This is often met with in the conducting of boxing bouts, namely, the unfair disarrangement of the padding or-filling of the glove, so as to take advantage ofthe adversary, and in the use of the adding or filling element 7 this is well nig impossible, and even were the padding'or filling shifted or separated, it would tend t0 re-assu'm'eits former position in complete occupation of the fillingretaining space. i

36 In practice it'has been found that this filling or padding element 7 is many times;

'- as durable as, and has several times the life of, the padding or filling ordinarily found I 1n boxing gloves; and it 'is found to reliably 40 keep its form and distribution and to lend a quality to the blow of the glove whichis* pleasing and unharmful and at the same time has all of the life and vigor of impact which is relished in this pastime.

As to length of life, it has been found that this padding or filling will outwear several glove bodies, the life of the fillingbeing for practical purposes, without limit. The
