To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WmLrAM F. ANKLAM, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of "Michigan, have invented cert'ain new and useful Improvements in Headlights, ofwhich the following is'a specificstion, reference sing had therein to; the accompanyingdrewings.
This invention relates to headlights and refers more particularly to a new and improved construction of headlight adapted for use on automobiles or the like.
Among the objects of the invention are to provide a structure whereby an inverted light efi'ect can be obtained in headlight constructions, thus preventing the blinding glare usually produced by headlights having refiectors; to provide a construction in wine the deflector is located in front of end ccn trelly-positioned with reference to the lamp bulb; to utilize the lamp bulb as a mounting means for the deflector; to provide means wherebythe deflector is adjustebly supported with respect to the bulb and the reflector; to provide means whereby the deflector can i be adjusted toward or from the reflector in dependent of the adjustment of .the bulb with reference to the reflector; to provide a.
construction in which the light can be focused by adjustment of the deflector alone; and in general to provide a new and improved construction of the character above referred to.

Describing in detail the particular embodiment of my invention shown in the -drawings, designates the reflector of an automobile headlight, B the lens and (l the electric light bulb having one end 1) adjust the seat E provided at the rear end of the casing.
