Application filed May 28, 1918. Serial No. 237,027.
T 0 oil whom it may concern:
Be it, known that l. l-lannr D. GARRET- son, a citizen of the United States, and a.
resident of the city county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Inductive High: Tension Terminals, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a high tension t minalin which is placed an inductive resistance which will prevent any injury to the transformer to which it is attached through undesirable reactions to which such transformer is subjected when in use.
lhis and other objects are accomplished by my invention, one embodiment of which is hereinafter more particularly set forth.
For a more particular description of my invention, reference is to he had to the accompanying drawing. forming a here of, in which:
' Figure 1" is a longitudinal section of my high tension, inductive terminal and Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on the line E22 of Fig. 1 looking in the direction of the arrows.
Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designate similar parts.
My improved terminal 1. consists or". a hollowbody 2 which is provided with the usual which has its ends secured to bolts '8 with nuts 9 that bear against suitable washers 10 so as to hold this inductive resistance inits proper position.
This inductive resistance 7, i when so placed, is protected from all mechanical injury and protects the transformer on to which it is mounted from electrical disturbance or injuryas above indicated.
lVhile I have shown and described one embodiment of my invention, it is obvious that it is not restricted thereto, but is broad enough to cover all structures within the scope in the annexed claim.
What I claim is:
In a high tension terminal adapted to protect a transformer, a corrugated insulator with a bore containing an inductive resistance and means for mounting the resistance so that it is protected from all mechanical injury and protects the instrument on which it is mounted from electrical troubles.
