To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, CHARLES F. PooLn, a citizen of the United States of America, and resident of Greenville, in the county of Greenville and State of South Carolina, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tables, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to tables for use in hospital wards and the like and is intended as a utility table for containing or holding instruments and the like while dressing wounds of patients or dispensing medicines, and it has for its object the provision of novel means whereby the table is suspended or supported from a wall bracket in which provision is made for illumination, for heating water and in which current is available for fans and the 0 erationof massaging implements, the ligiit having a reflector whereby it can be directed to any angles within predetermined bounds.

A'further object of the invention is to provide a table of the character described with means for its adjustment and capable of being swung at different angles with relation to the wall bracket by which it is suspended.

\Vith the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists in the details of construction, and in the arrangement and combination of parts to be hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed.

In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification, wherein like characters denote corresponding parts in the several views, and in which- Figure 1 illustrates a view in elevation of the table embodying my invention; and

Fig. 2 illustrates an end view thereof.

In these drawings 5 denotes a bracket which may be anchored to a wall in any appropriate way, the said bracket having a Socket 6 for the reception of a standard 7 which is attached to the under side of the table top 8. A set screw 9 is employed for holding the standard at different positions of adjustment and the said standard may be elevated and lowered for the purpose of adjusting the table with relation to a bed or chair occupied by a patient.

A lighting fixture 10 is attached to the standard and a conductor 11 of electricity is connected to aplug 12, it being understood that the plug is electrically connected to a source of electricity and that the said plug may be of any appropriate construction to permit current to be delivered to the fixture for the purpose of illuminating or supplying current to motors of fans. massaging implements or for heating purposes.

A lighting fixture 13 is also wired in any known way to the source of electricity and the lighting fixture 13 has a parabolic reflector 14: for directing light at different angles and the fixture is swiveled by the joint 15 to the post 16 rising from the table and supported thereby, in known manner. The edge of the table supports a hook 16 the said hook being attached thereto by the fastenings 17 and the said hooks may be of utility for supporting instruments or anylobjects so that it may be termed a utility 1100 r.

Suspended from the under surface of the table top, is a case. 18 in which drawers l9 and 20 are fitted, which drawers are preferably movable longitudinally of the table top and adapted to be drawn from the outer end of the table.

The lighting fixture 10 is connected to the standards 7 by the coupling 21 and may be turned at different angles with relation to the said standard.

It is believed unnecessary to show the conductors of electricity attached to the fixture 10 for supplying current to fans or instruments, as such plugs and conductors as are necessary will be employed in connection with the fixture 10, the lamp of course shown in the drawing being removed for the insertion of the plug of the con ductor.

The conductors 21 for the lighting fixture 13 are incased in the post 16 and said conductors 21 are extended and electrically connected to the fixture 10.
