IMPROVEMENT m ClGAR-MOLDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 128,386, dated June 25, 1872.
SPECIFICATION.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISAAC GUTHMAN, of Morrison,Whitesides county, and State of Illinois, have invented an Improved Cigar-Mold, and do hereby declare that the following description, taken in connection with the accompanyin g plate of drawings hereinafter referred to, forms a full and exact specification of the same, wherein I have set forth the nature of my said improvement, by which my invention may be distinguished from others of a similar class, together with such parts as I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent.
My invention relates to that class of molds which are made use of in finishing cigars, and the nature thereof consists in certain improvements in the details of the construction of the same, hereinafter described and shown.
In the accompanying plate of drawings, which illustrate my invention and form a part of the specification thereof, Figure 1 represents the mold when the parts thereof are open. Fig. 2 is a view of the mold when the parts thereof are closed.
The construction and operation of my invention are as follows The bed-plate A is provided with the groove B, which is of the form of one-half of a cigar. Hinged to each side of the said bed-plate are the side pieces 0 0, provided with the grooves E E, each of which is of the form of onequarter of a cigar. When used, the cigar is placed in the groove B and the side pieces 0 0 closed thereon; all parts are then secured together by the clamp H.
Having thus described my invention, I will state what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent in the following c1ausethat is to say:
1. As an article of manufacture, a cigarmold formed in three pieces, consisting of the semicircularly-grooved bed-plate A and quadrantally-grooved covers 0 O hinged together, as and for the purpose set forth.
2. The combination of a cigar-mold formed of hinged sections, with a clamp, H, which embraces said parts, in the manner shown and described.
