Application filed July so, 1917; eermnaaesaaa amusement devices and has for its object to provide a very simple, inexpensive device consisting of two ball guidingmembers arranged in different planes and connected together by means adapted to diverta ball bowled along one of said members on to the other of said members, which other member is provided with a plurality of holes of difi'e'rent sizes in which the ball maybe caught.

The holes in said last named member range from a size slightly larger than the ball to holes considerably larger than said ball and the object of the game is to bowl a ball with as much skill as possible along the first guiding member with force suflicient to carry it on to the second member and into the holes of smaller diameter, each hole of the series indicating a certain score, the smaller counting for more than the larger ones.

The invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts set forth in the following specification and particularly pointed out in the claims.

In the drawings, 1 and 2 indicate a pair of ball guiding members, the ball guiding member 2 being preferably disposed directly above the ball guiding member 1 and these members are preferably divergently disposed, that is to say, the member 1, starting from a point 3, inclines upwardly toward the end 4: thereof and the end 5 of the member 2, which is directly above the end 4 of the member 1, inclines upwardly toward the end 6 of said member 2, which end 6 is above the end 3 of the member 1.

The guide members 1 and 2 are supported preferably by four supports, two'of which 11, 11 are arranged upon opposite sides of the members 1 and2 adjacent to the ends 3 and 6 thereof, while'the other two'members 12, 12 are arranged upon opposite sides of the members 1 and2 and adjacent the ends 4 and 5 thereof.

To the supports are attached the ends of the curved side plates 8, 8 of the ball guide 7.' The bottom .9 of said guide forms a continuation of the upper surface 10 of the member 1 and extends upwardly for approximately Lthree-quarters of the length of the curved'guide 7, terminating at a point 13. The guiding member 1 is provided with side pieces 14, 14 which extend the entire length of said guiding member and aline with the side members 8 of the curved guide 7, said members 14 extending a substantial distance above the upper surface 10 of the memberol so as to prevent a ball, which is bowled along said uiding member, from running off the side t ereof.

The upper member 2 also has side pieces 15, 15 which perform the same function for the member 2 as do the side pieces 14 for the lower member 1. The upper guiding member 2 has a pluralit of holes 16, 16 distributed throughout t e length thereof which are adapted to receive a ball that is shot from the lower member 1 around the curved member 7 and on to the surface of the member 2. Directly beneath themember 2 and at a substantial distance above the member 1 is a chute 17 which is adapted to catch balls as they drop through the holes 16 or roll back along said guiding member -2 to the end 5 thereof and then drop to said chute 17, and this chute is directed downwardly from the end 5 of said memher 2 toward the end 3 of the member 1 so as to return all balls dropping through the holes in the guiding member 2 to the starting end of thedevice.

A stop 18 is provided at the lower end of the chute 17 to prevent the balls from dropping ofi the end of said chute. The holes 16 in the member 2, may be arranged in various positions. One position, as shown in Fig. 1, consists of a row of holes a, a

An amusement device having, in combipair of ball guiding members arranged one above the other the upper member of said pair having a plurality of holes extending therethrough, means adapted to direct a ball along the first named ball guiding member upon the second named guiding member, and a chute disposed beneath said holes adapted to catch the balls passing through said holes and return'said ball to its starting point.

An amusement device having, in combination, an upwardly inclined ball guiding member, a second ball. guiding member arranged ,bove said first named guiding member and inclined upwardly fr0m the upper end toward the forwardend thereof, means for directing a ball from the upper end of said lowermost ball guiding member to the lower end,of said uppermost ball guiding member, a chute arranged beneath the upper guiding member with one end of said chute projecting beyond the lower end of said upper guiding member, said chute inclining downwardly toward the front end of said lowermost guiding member and balls from said upper guiding member and return them to a point adjacent to the starting end of said lowermost guiding member, and means disposed transversely of the lower end of said chute, adapted to stop the balls In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
