BRICK.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, HUBEBT Isaac Kant, a citizen of the United States, residing at Steelton, in the county or" Dauphin and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bricks; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and eXact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to building bricks and the primary object of the invention is the provision of a building ried out by the peculiar forming of the sides, edges and faces of the building brick, with respect to the others as is clearly shown in the drawings.
With the view this invention consists in such novel sectional view on the line 2-2 of one of the imshowing the side opposite to the one illustrated in Fig. 4.
Fig. 6 is an end view of the brick.
Fig. is a view showing the opposite end of the brick to that illustrated in Fig. 6.
Fig, 8 is a detail perspective view of the brick.

ings, l designates the body of a building.
brick, which may be constructed of any suitable material, such as is commonly employed in the construction of building bricks and it greater width at one end thereof than the other as is clearly shown in Figs. 1 and 3 or" the drawings, so as to provide for the forming of an arcuate arch of greater diameter at its outer or upper edge than at its inner or lower edge, as is clearly shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings. The brick body 1 has its diagonally opposite longitudinally extending corners cut away as is clearly shown in Fig. 6 of the drawings. The flanges 2 and 3 which are left by the cutting away have their inner faces cut obliquely to the faces of the brick body 1 and oppositely to each other, leaving the opposite ends of the flanges 2 and 3 of increased thickness with respect to the remaining opposite ends of the flanges as is clearly shown in Fi 7 of the drawings, so that when the brie s are positioned for engagement with each other for forming an arcuate building arch, the respective flanges will fit within the cut away corners of the brick next thereto, preventin the accidental dislodgnient of one brie with respect to the other, when the entire arch has been properly formed and keyed or pushed to its permanent position.
I If it is desired, the ends 4 and 5 of the nick person manufacturing the same or being regulated by conditions.
In reducing the invention to practice cer tain minor features of construction may cessitate alterations to which the patentee is entitled provided such alterations are comprehended within the scope of what is claimed.
