SAES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES BRISTOW ANI) MURDOCK MCDONALD, OF BUTTE, MONTANA.
LIQUID POLISH.
No Drawing.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CHARLES Bnis'row and MURDOCK MCDONALD, citizens of the United States, residing at Butte, in the county of Silver Bow and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Liquid Polishes, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to certain improvements in liquid polishes and it is an object of the invention to provide a novel and improved polish which is particularly adapted for use in connection with wood, leather or other polished surfaces and wherein our improved polish serves to substantially eliminate scratches, removes spots and also serves as a preservative to the wood, leather or other material with which our polish may be employed.
It is also an object of the invention to provide a novel and improved polish which leaves no grease or gummy surface and which, when applied, dries within a very short period of time.
Our polish consists of three parts of neutral oil of petroleum to one part of cider vinegar. The neutral oil serves to obliterate scratches, remove spots and as a preserva- Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed November 17, 1917.

tive to wood or leather and also results in the necessary gloss being given to the surface. While the cider vinegar facilitates the cleansing operation, it has been fully demonstrated in practice that it eii'ectively serves as a drier. When our polish is applied to a surface said surface 'dries substantially instantaneously.
It has also been fully demonstrated in actual practice that our polish serves as a protection against the elements and which renders it of particular value in connection with automobile cushions, leather tops and other accessories. In applying our polish the cloth is saturated with the admixture and after being applied the polish is rubbed with a dry cloth.
We claim:
A liquid polish consisting of three parts of neutral oil and one part of cider vinegar.
In testimony whereof we hereunto affix our signatures in the presence of two witnesses.
