Still afurther object is to provide such a device. of the type having a receptacle communicating with the boiler, which receptacle has a bypass overflow outlet, and is also provided with an interior partition so arranged as to dividethe receptacle into comparatively large and small parts, and to pro-. Vide a movable receptacle con'nnunicating with the upper portion of the small compartment, whereupon the large compartment is the only one communicating with the boiler.
A further object is to provide a gage for showing the position of the fluid in the large compartment.
It is another object to connect the movable receptacle with a draft door and damper or both.
With these and otherobjects in view my invention consists in the construction, ar rangement and combination of the various parts of the device, whereby the objects contemplated are attained, as hereinafter more fully set forth, pointed out in my claims, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which: v

The furnace has a draft door 11. and in the smoke pipe a damper .12, both being arranged to be normally closed by gravity and to be opened by pulling on the chains 13 and 1 1:.
Suitably arranged is a support 15, at the upper end of which is mounted a receptacle 15 having a partition 17 extending across its interior, provided with a passage 18 in its lower end which all'ords communication between the large compartment 1.9 and the small compartment 20 into which the rc ceptacle 16 is divided by the partition 17. The boiler 10 is connected with the upper interior ol. the large comparlment if) by means of a pipe 21. A by-pass overflow pipe 22 extends through the side wall ol the upper compartment 19 at the upper end thereof and comn'lunicales with the pipe 21 at a point below the outlet from the compartment 19.
It will be noted that the pipe 21 extends through the top 0'! the receptacle 16, as clearly shown in Fig.
Communicating with the upper and lower portions of the interior of the large com-- partment 19 is a suitable gage 25, for indicating the height of water in the compartment The upper wall of the coniparl'mcnt 20 is provided with an opening to receive a screwthreadcd plug 24 having an opening through it contracted at its inner end at 25.

Screwed into the outer part of the plug 24L is a collar 28 between which and the innor portion of the plug 24: is a suitable packing 29.
Mounted on the outer end of the tube 26 and communicating therewith is a pipe 30. The pipe 30 extends in both directions from the tube 26, and has on one end an adjustable weight 31, capable of being locked in various positions on the pipe 30 by means of a set-screw On' the opposite end of the pipe 30 is a container or receptacle'33, the lowerend of which communicates with the pipe 30. The receptacle 33 is provided in its uppersurface with a small escape openchain 14: with the arm 35 whieh operatesthe damper 12. The chain 14 extends over suitable guide pulleys 36, as shown in Fig.1. 1
