IMPRQVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 127,060, dated May 21, 1872.
Specification describing a certain medical compound, called Good Samaritan Oil, invented by HIRAM D. J EWETT and ISRAEL D. J EW- ETT, of St. Omer, in the county of Decatur and State of Indiana.
In preparing this oil we use the followingnamed ingredients, and substantially in the proportions named: One ounce of oil of organum; one ounce of oil of hemlock; one ounce of oil of cedar; one ounce of oil of sassafras; one ounce of oil of winter-green two ounces of oil of olives; two ounces of tincture of myrrh; two ounces of oil of Valerian; two ounces of tincture of capsicum; two ounces of aqua ammonia; one-halfounce gum camphor; one ounce oflaudanum one ounce of sulphuric ether; one quart of alcohol. All of the above-named oils and the gums are to be cut with the best of alcohol, after which the tinctures are to be added, and the whole thoroughly agitated and mixed together, when it is ready for use.

What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The manufacture or preparation of a compound which is denominated Good Samaritan Oil, of theingredients named, and in substantially the quantities specified, it being for the purpose set forth.
