From this construction it will be seen that I have provided a combination fire arm a and one that can be quickly taken down or attached together and when attached together the parts will be held against relative readily separated from the receiver of the fire arm the parts can be more compactly stored for transportation and likewise by l removing thebarrels from the receiver, said barrels can be more thoroughly and more 1 quickly cleaned. It will likewise be seen that by arranging the slide handlein the manner shown, buta single handle will be required to operate eitherof the magazines for introducing shells into the receiving chambers and by providing a temporary locking mechanism for holding the slide handle in its adjusted position but one of a the magazines will be operated at a time and without danger of accidentally operating the 1 g other magazine. It will further be seen that by providing botha shotgun barrel and a rifle barrelthe fire arm is adapted for both large and small game, without requiring two separate fire arms and this result can be accomplished without materially increasing the weight of the fire arm,

The invention claimed is d 1, In a fire arm,the combination with a receiver, having a pair of sockets therein of:which is threaded and adapted to engage one of the sockets of the receiver, shell containing magazines cooperating with said barrels, and a threaded sleeve on one of said magazines adapted to engage the other i socket of said receiver, whereby the barrels will be locked into engagement with the re- 2, In 2a fire arm, the combination with a formed therein, said sockets havin seg- 1 mental threads, of a pair of barrels or co- 1 0 operation with said receiver, one of said barrels being threaded and adapted to engage a of a barrel connecting block, a pair of barrels having one of their ends projecting through the barrelconnecting block, one of said barrelsbeing adapted to interlock with one of the sockets of the receiver and the other barrel to enter said slot and means to lock said barrels and barrel connecting block against independent movement with respect to thereceiver.

4. Inna fire arm, the combination with a stock,and a receiver thereon, of a pair of barrels, a shell receiving magazine for each barrel, and a pivotally mounted, laterally movable single slide handle for operating one or the other of said magazines to release the shells therefrom.

5. In a fire arm, the combination with a stock, and a receiver thereon, of a combined shot gun barrel and a rifle barrel, means to removably attach the barrels to said receiver, a shell receiving magazine for each barrel, a shell releasing slide for each magazine, a

pivotally mounted, laterally movable single i slide handle for operating either of said slides, and means to hold the slide operating mechanism in engagement with either of the slides.

6. In a combined shot gun and rifle, the combination with a shot gun barrel and a rifle barrel, and a magazine for each barrel, of a shell releasing slide for each magazine, a single pivotally mounted, laterally swinging slide handle, arms on said handle for engagement with one or the other of said.
