, The present invention relates to lubricat ing and has particular reference to new anduseful improvements in portable force feed lubricating devices commonly known as grease guns.
The primary object of our invention is to provide a force feed device for heavy lubricants, such as grease and the like, the device being arranged for transportation from place to place and having an outlet conduit for reaching difficult points in complicated machinery.
Another object of our invention is to provide a device of the character described which is simple in construction, light, strong and durable and effective in operation.
Another object of our invention is to provide a force feed lubricating device in which the parts thereof are adapted to be disassociated for cleaning and replenishing the container.
Other objects and advantages to be derived from the use of our improved force feed lubricating device will appear from the following detail description and the claim, taken with an inspection of the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view of a force feed lubricator embodying the 1mprovements of our invention and I Fig. 2 is a fragmental sectional view connecting means.
Referring more particularly to the drawing, wherein similar characters of reference designate like and corresponding parts throughout the various views, 1 designates the base of our improved lubricating device, said base having a plurality of supporting legs 2 extending downwardly therefrom, the free ends of thelegs being provided with feet 3.
The base 1 isprovided, preferably at diametrically opposite points with a pair of enlargements l and 5 having the threaded portions 6 and 7 of vertical standards 8 and 9 engaged therein.

and 9 are provided with annular shoulders 10 and 11 and heads 12 and 13. A trans verse supporting frame'l l is provided constructed in the form of a truss, the free ends of said frame 14: beingprovided with hookmembers 15 for engagement with the standards 8 and 9 between the respective collars and heads thereof. Set screws 16 and 17 t serve to prevent displacement of the frame when in use. A grease receptacle 18 having its upper edge flared as at 18 so as to engage the vertical standards 8 and 9 is mounted on the base 1, a plurality of lugs 19 being formed on said base to prevent displacement of said receptacle. An outlet 20 is formed in the receptacle 18 adjacent the bottom thereof, and a flexible conduit is connected at said outlet, to convey the lubricant to desired points.
The contents of the receptacle 18 are forced therefrom by means of a piston 21 formed with an annular flange 22 forming an engaging surface for snug movement in the receptacle 18. An actuating piston rod 23 is provided, said rod 23 being threaded and engaged in a threaded aperture 2T formed in the truss or frame 14:. A transverse handle 25 is carried by the upper end of the piston rod 23 for rotating said piston rod. The lower free end of the rod 23 is rotatably engaged with the piston as indicated at 26.
It will be seen that in using our improved grease gun the same may be transported from place to place, the flexible conduit serving to convey the contents of the receptacle 18 to the remote parts of the machine. The frame 14 may be quickly removed by loosening the screws 16 and 17, and the standards 8 and 9 may also be quickly removed from the base. Thus it will be seen that in the provision of our improved grease gun we afford mean for distributing a lubricant to desirable points, the device of our invention permitting the application of the lubricant to parts which would ordinarily be inaccessible, or would cause considerable difliculty to reach.
From the above description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it is thought that a clear and comprehensive understanding of the construction, operation and advantages of our invention may be had, and while we have shown and described the device as embodying a specific structure, we desire that it be understood that such changes may be made in said structure as do not depart from thespirit and seop'e-of"-the invention 'as "clainie'di Having thus fully described our invention,
