have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gun Attachments, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention has for its principal object the production of a devlce used for lengthenin the barrels of short construction for acilitating greater accuracy in longer shots. I Another object'of this invention is the production of a gun attachment wherein a choke or cylindrical bore end is removably mounted upon a short gun barrel for increasing the accuracy of a. shot at a longer distance.

A still further object of this invention is the production of a gun attachment wherein simple and eflicient locking means is used for positively holdin the removable end from being accidenta y moved.

A still further object of'this invention is the production of a gun attachment wherein the locking means used for holding the removable end from accidental displacement so as to positively and accurately aline the sights.

With these and other objects in View, this invention consists of ,certam novel combinations, constructions and arrangements of parts as be hereinafter fully described and claimed.

Referrin to the accompanying drawing by numera s, it will be seen that the device 1s used in combination with an ordinary gun as illustrated in general at 1. It is, of course, obvious that if so desired a gun may be provided with an ordinary sight 2. The barrel 3' of the gun 1 may be of any desired length and is provided with a reduced portion 4 which portion 4 is externally threaded as shown at 5 in Fig. 5. When only ordinary shooting is done with the gun or when targets within a medium or close range are fired at, the removable end is not employed. When, however, targets at a greater distance are fired at," the removable end which, of course, may be of any desired length, is then mounted upon the barrel 3. In order to accomplish this function, the removable end 6 ishollowed out and internally threaded as indicated at 7 adjacent its inner end. This hollowed out portion is large enough to receive the externally threaded ortion of the barrel 3 as shown clearly in ig. 4 whereby the removable end will be carried upon the end of the gun barrel 3. It is, of course, obvious that it is absolutely necessary to surfaces for the gun barrel and the removable end for permitting the charge to pass freely through the barrel and the' removable end without being deflected or caused to lodge at the unction of the barrel and removable end. It will further be seen that the removable end 6 is provided with a sight 8 adjacent itsouter portion.

In order to hold the removable end from being accidentally displaced or becoming loose after the gun has been fired a few times, there is provided a lock as will be hereinafter described. A pair of lugs 9 are fixedly mounted upon the gun barrel 3 adjacent the reduced portion thereof and these lugs may be retained in any desired manner such for instance, as being screwed upon the shrunk, welded or annealed thereon so as to be permanently retained in a set position spaced from each other as shown in Fig. 3. p A locking bar 10 is subpivot pin 13 to ass t needed? stantially rectangular in cross section and is indicated as clearly shown in Fig. 9 and has a thickened journal 11 at one end through which extends an opening 12..- This journal 11 fits between the in s 9 so as to permit the ough the opening 12 and be carried y- -thelugs supporting the 1 bar. A one-piece lug 14 1s shrunk or otherwise secured upon the removable end 6 at a distance from the internally threadedportion 7 of the removable end portion, the lug 14 will have a firm support since it is carried upon the thickest part of the removable end- 6 as shown in Fig. 4. a locking bar pivotally mounted upon said barrel, a retaming means mounted upon said end and a nut adjustably mounted upon said bar and engaging said means for holdin bar in a set position, whereby said end will be held against accidental displacement.
