structures embodying means for holding oil I or some other substance to prevent the passage of vermin and it ,,has for its object among others to provide a perch structure wherein the perches are held free from contact with the walls of an inclosure. and in which one perch may beinoved with respect to another or others to permit cleaning of the oil holding means and free access to the dropping board for cleaning or removing the same.

Another object is to provide a hinged section in one or several of the porch brackets'cmbodicd in the invention in order that movement and adjustment of the perches may be effected one with respect to the other or others. 7

A further object is to construct one or several of the perch brackets in order that they may be used either in the capacity of vertical supports or wall brackets or both.

With the above and other objects in vie-w the present invention consists in the combination and arrangementof parts as hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and particularly pointed out in the appended claim, it being understood that changes may be made in the form, proportion, size and minor details Without departing from the spirit of the invention.

In the drawings wherein is illustrated the preferred embodiment of the invention like characters of reference indicate like or similar parts.

Secured upon the upper portion of the walls'l of an ,inclosure which in this instance is arbitrarily designated as a hen coop by way of illustration, are a pair of adjustable perch supports or brackets generally designated by 2 and each comprising an arm 3 upon which is mounted a freely movable sleeve at bent to form foot flanges 5 for attachment to the wall 1; the upper end of the arm being screw threaded to receive a nut 6 to prevent disengagement of the sleeve therefrom. The lower end of the arm 3 is bent as at 7 and is hingedly connected by means of the hinge stud 8 to a screw threaded shank portion 9 driven or screwed into the end of a horizontal perch 10. Disposed intermediate the sleeve 4 and the bent end 7 and concentrically embracing the arm 3 is an oil cup 11 for preventing the passage of vermin from the wall 1 to the perch l0.

A vertical perch 12 has mounted upon the upper ends thereof vertical supports or brackets 13 each having a shaft or body portion 14 provided with screw threaded ends 15 adjacent which are abutment Washers 16: one of which abuts the end of the perch l2 and the other abuts the end of the perch 10 which is held in position there upon by means of the nut 17. Disposed intermediate the abutment washers 16 and concentrical'ly embracing the shaft or body portion 14 is an oil cup 18 for preventing the passage of vermin from the perch 12 to the perch 10. i

Attention is called to the fact that the perch 10 may be swung upwardly about the hinged studs 8 of the brackets 2 from engagement with the perch 12 upon removing the nuts 17; thus permitting cleaning of the cups 11 and 18 and also cleaning of the dropping board, (not shown).

As a means for holding the perch 12 so curelv but in spaced relationship upon the wall 1 slightly modified forms of brackets generally designated bylf) are provided, each of which have substantially S-shaped body portions 20 terminating in feet or securing plates 21 for attachment: with the wall 1 and perch l2. Disposed intermediate the feet or plates 21. and concentrically embracing the body portion 20 is an oil cup 22 for preventing the passage of vermin from the wall 1 to the porch 12.

It will thus be seen that the perch structure as an entirety is adequately guarded against the possibility of becoming infested with vermin from adjacent objects, and that each element of the structure is securely mounted in its most advantageous and desirable position.
