Be it known that i, JAMES A. MCCOL'LUM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pawnee, in the county of Pawnee and State i this application is adapted to be attached to the cap of' the radiator of an automobile, to
serve as an ornament. l
One object. of the invention is to provide astructure of the kind mentioned, which may be fashioned at tritli'ng expense out osheet metal or some similar substance.
Another object of the invention is to pro vide novel means for mounting the attachment for movement. with respect to the radiator cap.
It is within the province of the disclosure to improve generally and to enhance the utility of devices of that type to which the present invention appertains.
With the above and other objects in view which will appear as the description 'proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement ot parts und in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed can bemade within the scope ot'ivhat is claimed, without departing 'from thc spirit ot the invention.

T he structure formino* the subject matter of this application preferably is made ot metal throughout and includes' an upper plane 1 provided on its front and rear edges and near its central portion with underlying ianges. r1`l1e numeral 3 marks a lower plane, provided with overhanging Iianges 4t' aiined vertically with the flanges 2 on the plane 1. Disposed between the planes 1 and 2 at the corners thereofl are struts 5 having lateral fingers 6 which engage the innersurfaces of the planes l and 2, the struts having fingers 7 which pass through the planes 1 and 2 and engage the outer surfaces thereof, the construction being such that the planes 1 and 2 are held together against separation and against moving toward each other.
The invention comprises a body 8 located between the planes 1 and 2, the body comprising a bottom 9 resting on the lower plane 3 and engaged at its front and rear edges by the iianges et of the piane 3, the bottom 9 being provided along one edge with an up standing flange 10. A side 11 upstands from the opposite edge of the bottom 9 and is connected with a top 12 bearing against the under surface of the upper plane 1 engaged at its end by the flanges 2 ot the upper plane. A side 1li extends downwardly .trom the top 12 and bears against the outer surface oi the flange 10, the tiange having a tongue 1'5 extended through the side 14 and clenched down. thereon, the construction being'such that the bottom 9, the side 11, the top 12 and the side lei will be held in box-like form. The rear ends 16 of the sides 11 and 14 extend backwardly beyond the bottoni 9 and the top 12 and converge, the rear ,extremities ot the parts 16 being in contact as shown at 17, and being supplied with outwardly projecting wings 18 portions 17 of the body isp-rovided' with a bendable tongue 19 extended thrpugh the other contacting portion and clenched down thereon to hold the parts 17together. The forward extremity of the side 11 merges into a transverse end wall 20, extended as shown at 21, so as to overlap the outer side of the member 14, the extension 2lhavting a tongue 22 prolonged through the side 1li and clencheddown thereon.
