WATER-LEVELREGULATING"DEVICE;
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT HENnY SIM- Mons, a citizen of the United States,-and a resident of Orland, in the county of :Glenn and State of California, have made certain new and useful Improvements in Water- My inventlon ls'anlmprovement in water 7 level regulating devices, and has for itsobject to provide mechanism of the character 7 specified usedin water troughs,-which will be automatically operated to admit the water 4 always retain the water at-a certain level in the trough.
Figure 1 1s a vertical section'through the improved valve and trough. i
Fig. 2 isa side view of the casing.-
Fig. 3 isa topplan viewer the float casing, and V o I,
Fig. 4: is a perspective view of the upper section of the valvecasing.
Thepresent embodiment of the-invention is shown in connection with a water trough 1 of usual construction, having inthe bot tom thereof an opening 2; through which is passed the supply pipe?! for the water, 2

upon theflan'ges 7 of the section 6 of the valve casing,;and the three'flanges are secured together by bolts and nuts 15.
i Whenever the water in the trough reaches a predetermined level, the float will "close the valve ,10 against the port'9, sealing-the f said port, and preventing thefurther inflow of water. As soon asthe waterfalls'below Thus the water is retained at a predetermined level. y I n It willbe noticedthat the valve is pivoted Vi f o to the stem so that it may move freely with respect to the stem to permit it to seat properly, and that the cylindrical casing hasdischa'rge openings 17 forv the waten v spherlcal valve casing at the top of the pipe and connecting with the pipe and havlng' a port at its top, -a ball valve within the casing cooperating with the portfa float, pa-s'tem connecting the float to thevalve, a casing inclosing the float and secured. to the valve casing and having openings in its top for equalizingthe air pressure within the seas ing. and also having discharge openings in its 'side below the float, said spherical casing "being sectional and the sections having mar ginal flanges abutting, the float inclosing casing'having also a marginal flange abutting the flanges of the sections and means for securing the flanges together;
