The invention relates to centrifugal driers such as are employed'in the drying of salt and similar materials, and it is the object of the invention to obtain a construction in which the material may be continuously f in and out of the centrifugal without mterrupting the rotation thereof.

A is the revoluble drum, which is formed of suitable material for permitting the passage of liquid therethrough while retaining the salt material. This drum is =mounte upon a central shaft B by means of heads C, the lowermost of which 15 fast upon said shaft, said shaft being preferably suspended from a spherical bearing D which permits it and the drumto rotate around the true center of gravity. E is a pulle for mparting rotary motion to the sha t B. The upper portion of this shaft is hollow and is connected with a conduit F for introducing material into the drum, said material passin downward through the hollow shaft and being discharged through lateral openings G therein at the upper end of the drum. 7
With the construction as thus far described, it would be possible .to ntroduce the salt orother material to be dr1ed while the drum is ra idly revolving, but on account of the lac ity of the mater al of fluid it would not of i feed downward and CHARLES L. As specifically shown, this gearing comprises an in ternal gear-wh l L keyed or otherwise rotatively connected with the shaft B, an internal gear-wheel M of different diameter connected to the casing K and a rotary member N journaled on an eccentric bearing havin an external gear-wheel P in mesh with t e internal gear-wheel L and an external gear-wheel Q in mesh with the internal gear-wheel M. The eccentric bearing 0 is ormed upon a member R which is sleeved upon the shaft B and is held from rotation. Inasmuch, however as the shaft B is suspended from the sp erical bearing D and is free to oscillate so as to rotate about its true center of gravity, it is necessary to provide for this movement in the anchorage connecfeeding member arrangedv in the plane of the tion of the member R.
