CHRISTIAN B. WOLGEMUTH, OF MOUNT JOY, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN HARVESTERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 125,512, dated April 9, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN B. WOLGE- MUTE, of Mount Joy, in the county of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania, have invented an 1m provement in Harvesting-Machines; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawing forming part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of such parts of a reaping-machine as are necessary to show the application of my improvement in place application of an extra lever-arm, B, to the cross-shaft A, connecting this arm B by a rod, 0, or other means, with an elbowed lever, D, or its equivalent, so that, by its connection E with the supporting-bar F, attached to the under side of the platform G, as shown by Fig. 1, thereby not only made to support the platform on the side, but also by its connection with the leverage L and cross-shaft A, to act in unison with the adjustment made by the rack and pawl, and connecting side support H, thus securing a firm support for the platform.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of a reaper-platform, itsdrag and rear supporting-bars, and their connections with the same rock-shaft, and a single lever, substantially as described, for supporting and raising or lowering the inner end of the platform. a
