It is obvious that tlie lower end of the drain tube 3 ofthezadjustable basin can also be attached'to any other part of the cuspidor, waste receptacle or any waste or drain pipe, or it.m'ay rest detached in any waste receptacle, spittoon or drain pipe.

This support is shown as a fork-like arrangement but may be of any suitable shape and may be attached to anydesired object, or to the floor, wall or the like.

It will be noted that by means of this arrangement the basin or bowLof my device, which basin may be of various shape to suit the particular case on hand, can be easily ad usted to the respective position or needs of the patient or person using it, without changing his position, or it may be used for syringing or similar purposes,'for medical operations or the like, the expectorated or other matter draining off through tube 3 into the bowl 8 of the dental or medical cuspidor or other receptacle or drain pipe, any matter that is apt to clog the tube 3 is held back'by the trap 16, and the basin can be easily detached and exchanged .by lifting it from support'9 for cleaning or other urposes and by loosenin set-screw 22. If desired, a water flush or ushing device can be used in the basin.

The gooseneck 4 may also be designed to be attached to-any detachable head-rest 24, as shown in Fig. VI, which is used on medithe lower end of drain tube 3, the same may be permanently closed at the lower end or merely temporarily, by means of screw cap 26, as shown in Fig. VII. The basin shown in ,Fig. VII has a projection on either side designed to engage part 9, and thus is is able or being easily slipped in position, w en needed.

If this device is used, I prefer to have the basin and tubing made of any very light material as, for instance, aluminum, cellu,

If the material is flexible as, for instance, when soft rubber is used, the lower end of tube 3 can be easily closed water-tight by means of a suitable clamp or any other suitable device, or it can be rolled up, kinked or the like. For cleaning purposes the entire basin and tubing could easily be inverted after detaching the basin 25 and removing the clamp.

An attachment for dental or medical cuspidors, consisting of an auxiliary spittoon or medical basin provided with an outlet, a flexible drain-tube connected to saidoutlet, the dental or medical vided wlth an adjustable rim which provides cuspidor proan opening, the lower end of the drain-tube being adjusted or connected to said opening, whereby the auxiliary basin may be adjusted in any position desired.

An attachment for dental or medical cuspidors, consisting of an auxiliary spittoon or medical basin provided with an outlet, a flexible drain tube connected to said outlet, the dental or medical cuspidor provided with an adjustable arm which is provided with an opening or attachment for engaging the lower end of the drain-tube, said lower end of the drain-tube being adjusted to or connected to said opening or attachment, whereby the auxiliary spittoon or basin may be adjusted in any position desired.
