BEDGLOTHES-GLAZIIP.
Specification of "To all whom it may concern Be it known that-I, Jnssn F. Cooina citizen of the United States, residing at Meri dian, in the county of Lauderdale and State of Mississippi, have invented a new and use ful Bedclothes-Clamp; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and
exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a new and useful bed clothes clamp.
As one of the objects of the invention it is the aim to provide a simple, novel and inexpensive structure of clamp, and one in which essential, desirable and practical features exist.
v The invention comprises further features and combination of parts, as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawings and claimed;
In the drawings Figure l is a View in perspective showing the improved clamp as applied to bed clothes whereby the same may be held smooth and in place.
i Fig. .2 is an enlarged detail View of the clamp attached.
Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional View through the clamp.
, Referring more particularly to the drawings 1 and 2 designate the two jaws of the clamp, and which are hingedly connected at 3. Secured at 4- to the outerface of the jaw '2 is a fiber washer 5, through which and the j aw Q a screw bolt extends. This screw bolt 6 passes through a slot 7 of the jaw l, and upon the threaded end thereof a winged nut 8 is applied, whereby the jaws may be held adjusted relative to one another. The slot 7 is surrounded by a wear plate 9, which is secured in position at 10. The inner face of the jaw 2 is provided with an area of @oeies or thispatent may be obtained for five cents Letters Eatent.

rubber or other fiber 10 having corrugations 11, so as to hold the cover between the jaws without slipping.
In order to cause the jaws to spring apart automatically, as the winged nut is unscrewed, a spring bar'or member 12 arches from one jaw to the other at their hinged ends, thus forming an arched eye 13, in which one end of a double snap hook is connected. This snap hook it is adapted in turn to connect to the bed spring as shown in the drawings. The arched eye is provided with an enlargement 15, which constitutes reinforcing means, for strengthening the same. he spring bar or member 12 is secured to the jaws as at 16.
From the foregoing it will be noted there has been produced a simple and eflicient bed clothes clamp, and one which has been found desirable and practical.
The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and. useful is In a bed clothes clamp, the combination of a pair of hinged jaws and a spring eye connected to said jaws, of means connecting in said eye and to the bed spring for anchoring the clamp, the inner face of one of said jaws having corrugations, the other jaw having a wear plate lined slot, a bolt eX- tending through the corrugated jaw and having its threaded shank passing through the wear plate lined slot, and provided with a winged nut threaded thereon for clamping the two jaws on the bed clot-hes.
In testimony whereofl have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
