To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that l, GEORGE HENRY VHEARL' a citizen of the United States, and resident of Racine, in the .countyy of Racine and State of l/Visconsin, have invented new and useful improvements in lWardrobe-Cabinets, of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which are apart of this specification.

This invention relates to improvements in wardrobe cabinets.

Tt is one of the objects of the present invention to provide a wardrobe cabinet having drawers and garment hangers so positioned and arranged as to be conveniently accessible with a minimum effort and without the necessity of disarranging other parts in placing an article of apparel within the cabinet or in removing one therefrom.

A further object of the invention is to provide a wardrobe cabinet having garment hanger tracks mounted therein upon which lgarment hangers are slidably mounted and independently removable therefrom.

A further object of the invention is to provide a wardrobe cabinet4 having a plurality of drawers mounted therein which may be independently moved to positions of convenient accessibility.

A further object of the invention is to provide a wardrobe cabinet in which the gar-VV ment hanger tracks are provided with eX- tensible yend portions to permit the garment hangers being slid outwardly thereon and separated whereby the hangers will be more accessible and more easily removed and replaced than heretofore.

v A further object of the invention is to provide a means for effectively holding the garments in place and against disarrangement while supportedupon hangers within the cabinet.

A further object of the invention is'to provide a wardrobe cabinet in which the forward portion of the top is in the form of a hinged door or cover and may be swung upwardly to open position, and when in closed position7 overlaps the front door of the cabinet.

A further 4object of the invention is tov providea wardrobencabinet having `a plurality of hinged doorswhich are lockedin closed position by a plurality of locks controlled by one keyed lock.

A further object of the invention is to provide a wardrobe cabinet which is ofy simple construction, is strong and durable and is well adapted for the purpose described.

The upper door or cover is provided with front and side flanges 18 which overlap the front door and the side portions of vthe cabinet and is adapted to be locked to said front door by a keyed lock 19 in the usual manner.

A curved brace arm 2O pivoted to the top door and engaging a coacting member attached to one of the side portions of the cabinet is arranged to hold the said door in open position and at different angles. The top door is provided with a mirror 9 which may be used when the door is'swung to open position.

From the description thus far given it will be seen that the front door can not be opened until after the top door has been unlocked and swung upwardly and the lockingbar has been pulled upwardly to release the bolts, thus providing a cabinet having a plurality of doors controlled by one keyed lock.

The inner side walls of the cabinet are provided with horizontally extending track bars 21 which are spaced from the walls and supported by vertically extending bars 22 which are secured to said walls. Drawers 23 positioned within the cabinet are provided with hook portions 24 which extend over the track bars and slidably connect the drawers thereto. The drawers are of a width to approximately fill the rear half of the space within the cabinet and thus form the rear half of the space into a drawer section 25 and the forward half of the space into a wardrobe section 26. As the track bar extends from the front to the rear portion of the cabinet, the drawers may be independently pulled outwardly and supported in open yposition. to permit convenient access to the contents thereof when the doors are in open position.

A hanger device 27 mounted on the inner face of the front door comprises a rectangular U-shaped metal strip 28 having extensions 29 hinged to the outer ends of the side or track portions 30 of the device. The hinged connections 3l are provided with stop portions 32 which serve to limit the outward swing of the extensions to longitudinal alinement with their' respective track portions. The outer ends of the extensions 29 are provided with a locking means 29 for locking the said ends together when in folded or closed position. `When in folded position the garment hangers are held on the fixed tracks by said folded extensions.

A wardrobe cabinet, comprising a casing having an open side and a hinged door therefor and a front garment space vand a rear drawer space, trackbars meunted on the opposite side .walls of the casing and -extending approximately from the front to the rear portion of said casing, drawers positioned within the casing and having hook portions which slidably extend over the track bars and support the drawers therefrom, said drawers normally resting in the drawer space of the casing but being independently movable to a supported position forwardly therefrom into the garment space, a garment hanger device mounted on the door and extending inwardly therefrom into the garment space, and garment hangers slidably mounted on the device` for supporting garments in the garment space. and movable therefrom when the door is swung to open position to permit the drawers td be moved into the garment space.

A wardrobe cabinet, comprising a casing having a front and a top opening and a front garment space and Va rear drawer space, doors for said openings, a plurality of drawers positioned in the drawer space of the casing and movable to the garment space thereof and supported 1n said position. the door covering the top opening permitting access to one of the drawers when said drawer hasbeen moved forwardly into the garment space, a'hanger device'mountedon the door covering'the front opening and extending into'the garment space in front of 'the ldrawers, and garment hangers supported by :sai'd'device for supporting vgarspace of the casing andmovable tothe fro/nti,A garment space thereof, the door covering the top opening permitting access to the top drawer when said drawer has been moved forwardly, an extensible hanger device mounted on the door covering the front opening and extending into the garment space in front of the drawers, and garment hangers supported by said device tor supporting garments in said garment space and movable therefrom when the door is swung to open position to permit the drawers to be moved into the garment space.

A wardrobe cabinet, comprising a casing having a front and a top opening and a front garment space and a rear drawer space, track bars mounted on the opposite inner side portions of the casing and extending approximately from the front to the rear portion of the casing, drawers slidably supported on said track bars and normally positioned in the drawer space of the casing and movable to the garment space of the' casing and supported in said position a floor for the front opening of the casing, a door Jfor the opening of the casing which overlaps the front door, a hanger device connected to the front door and extending into the garment space of the casing beneath the top door, and garment hangers supported on said device for supporting garments in said garment space and movable therefrom when the door is swung to open positionto permit the drawers to be moved into the garment space.

A wardrobe cabinet, comprising a casing having a front and a top opening and a front garment space and a rear drawerv space, track bars mounted on the'opposite inner side portions of the casing and extending approximately from the front to the rear portion of the casing, drawers slidably supported on said track bars and normally positioned in the drawer space of the casing and movable to the garment space of the casing and supported in said position, a door for the front opening of the casing, a door for the top opening of the casing which overlapsthe fronty door, a pair of Atracks mounted on and Vextending inwardlyv 'into the garment space from the front door, ex-

A wardrobe cabinet, comprising a casing havin a front and a top opening, a door for t e front opening, a door for the top opening and having a portion which overlaps the front door, a plurality of drawlio ers within the casing, a hanger device mounted on the front door and extending into the casing, a bolt means for locking the front door to the casing, a member controlling the bolt means and extending to an operable position adjacent the top door, and a locking means for the top door.
