Heating apparatus for a rooin, conlprising a fireplace opening into the roonl and provided with an outlet flue, an air healingr chamber at the bat-li of said tireplace having a fresh air inlet and a passage extendirngdownwardly therefrom across the back of the fireplace, said air heating chainher haring an outlet conduit in connnuniration with said downwardly extending pas` sage and opening into the lower portion of the room at a point remote fronrthe fireplace,

Heating apparatus conlprising the coinbination of a room with an open fireplace, and a heating back for the fireplace, said back having an upwardly extending,r flue and a dowi'nvardly ext-ending flue comuiunieatin; l therewith and having a fresh air inlet leadlower end of the upwardly extending flue, and a conduit for the heated air leading from the lower end of said downwardly extei'ldiixg flue and discharging heated air lulo the lower part of the room at a point remote from the fireplace whence said heated air circulates through lhe room and augn'ienls the draft through the .fireplaee. l
