In these drawings, 1 indicates the shank of the 13001 adapted to be connected With the driving spindle in any suitable manner. This shank has a head 2 provided with a concaved face formed substantially like the segment of a sphere. From this concaved face two pins 3 project into radial S1ots or openings 9 in a coupling piece 01 compensat1ng rnember 8 Wh10h has a convex fzmce eorrespondmg 111 curve er spher1c1ty t0 the conczwed face 0f the fiange or head 2. This compensating piece also receives pins 10 pro- ]e'cting from the concaved face 7 0f the die carrying piece 4. This die carrying piece is held to the head er flange 2 by a hub o1 cap pieee 11, Which is provided with a fiange at 12 overlapping the flange 6 of the die earrying piece, the seid hub being secured to the head 01 flange 2 by a serew 01 holt 13. In order to avoid this Construction, I employ a elamping nut A, which is threaded on its interior and is fitted t0 the exterior threads B of the gage *ring 19. This nut is provided with a cylindrieal portion a, and an inwardly extending flange er face portion 0 Which overlies the front faces of the dies and securely clamps them in the positions to Whieh they may be adjusted, and this nut also serves to lock the gage ring against displacement 011 the die carrier 4. It Will be observed that by turning this nut A all of the dies Will be clampedab one action, and simultaneously the in place. V

I claim 213 my invention:
l. In combination Witl1 the die block sCrew tl1readed externally, a plurality of dies et the front tliereof, a gage ring having an internal thread engaging tl1e external tl1read of the die block, und havii1g a conical inner face to engage the conical outer faces of the sections, and a locking nut engaging an external thread on the gage ring end having a portion engaging the dies to clamp t-he same in place, substantially es described.
2. In combination with a die block having an exterior cylindrical screW-threaded portion, a gage ring having an internal thread engaging the' external thread of tl1e butting portion, seid die block und having 1neans to variably determine tl1e positions of die sections, seid gage ring having an external screw thread, die sections within tl1e gage ring und having their front faces in a plane substantially at right angles to the axis of the gage ring, and a locking nut engaging ehe external screw thread cf the die block end having a flenge extending inwardly et right angles to its axis to bear on the front faces of tl1e die sections, substantially es described.
3. In combination a die block, die sections, a ring portion surrounding die die sections baving means for variably determining tlie positions thereof, and'2i clamping nut screwthreaded upon seid ring portion and having a front flange to bear 011 the faces of the dies for clamping them in position.
4. In combination a die holder and a die c-0mp0sed of sections divided from each other 011 lines parallel with the axis of the die, eachof seid sections having a, outting a gullet et eech side of the gullets being deeper at the front than et the rear of the sections, t-l1e gullets of adjacent sections matching euch other and providing recesses Hering ioward the front of the die, substantially es described.
