IMPRGVEMENT' IN WHIP-SGCKETS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 124,889, dated March 26, 187 2.
1,.GE0EGE FREDERICK DE VINE, of the springs on their axles, or a bow-spring placed behind, the points bearing on the clamps to press them together. A screw passing through the top lug, with a plate or Washer under the lug and on the point of screw, presses down on theclamps and fastens them in any position.

A is the stock, made of either brass oriron. B is the socket, of either leather oranetal. O is the clamps or clips; D, spiral springs or bow-spring. E is a screw with plate or washer.
I claim as my invention- The stock A With the socket B and the clamps or clips D, the spiral springs or howspring E, also the screw with plate or Washer.
