Be it known that I, CHARLES F. This invention relates to doors and more iarticularly to a combined creen and storm loor.

The invention has for ts rimary obact to provide a simple an e cient screen oorwhich may be quickly nd conveniently onverted by the mere insertion of an imerforate panel into an eflicientstorm door.

Another object is the provision of novel nd-eflicient means for re iably and detachbly securing the panel or door covering in osition.

With these and other objects in view, the mention consists in the novel construction, 'rangement and formation of parts as will hereinafter specifically described, claimed id illustrated in the accompanying drawin.which:

Vertically and horizontally disposed guides 9 and 10, respectively, are secured adacent the inner edges of the vertical side and bottom members of the door frame and are preferably U-shaped in cross section, as clearly indicated in Figs. 2 and 4, to permit insertion of the imperforate panel or cover 11. Clamping stri s 12 and 13 are secured the vertical mul ion 6 and mullion 7 respectively, by wing nuts and bolts 13 and rmly clamp the screen 8 and panel or cover 11 against the vertical mullion and mullion 7. A clamping bar or strip 14 is secured to the up er horizontal member of the door frame tremities of the vertical uides and reliably clamps the upper edge of the panel or covering 11 against the upper portion of the door frame.

The panel or cover 11 may be constructed of wood or any other suitable material, but by preference a sheet of relatively thick water-proof paper such as is commonly used by builders for temporary roofin is used. An aperture 16 constituting a win ow is formed in the upper portion of the cover or panel 11 and is closed by a transparent insert 17 suitably secured to the inner surface thereof.

During relatively cold weather the door panel or cover 11 is positioned in the guides 9 and and is reliably secured in position on the door frame by the clamping etween the upper exstrips 12, 13 and 14 and the wing nuts and bolts 13, whereas during the warm summer months the clamping strips 12, 13 and 14 are removed, the panel or cover 11 withdrawn from the guides and the clamping strips are replaced to reliablysecure the screen 8 in position upon the door frame.

What I claim is:
