Be it known that 1, WILLIA P. NoREnN, a citizen of the United States, residing at WVatertown, in the county of Carver and State of Minnesota, have invented a new and useful. Improvement in Detachable Bumpers for Bolster-Springs, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in vehicle springs and has more especial reference to means forprotecting such springs against damage occasioned by excessive loads carried within the, vehicle or:by sudden jars, as where the Wheels of the vehicle pass over an irregularity in theroad being traveled. I An object of the invention is to provid a device for this purpose, which is simple,
eflic ient and of economical construction and ,which may be easily and quickly positioned upon the bolsteror other portion of the wagon frame to relieve the wagon springs under certain conditions.
Other and further objects and advantages of the invention will be hereinafter [set forth and the novel features thereof defined by the appended claims.

By loosely mounting the stirrupsC upon the bolster, it will be appreciated that when the springs are flattened as by a weight car- I ried within the wagon body or by a sudden jolt, the stirrups tend to ride on the surface of the bolster and thusincrease the resili ency and throw of the springs.
